I stayed at The Normandy for 10 days in October 2004 and really liked the hotel. Large spacious antique mirrored armoire for clothing, clean bathroom with great freestanding shower stall, balcony, and comfy bed. The room wasn't modern but it was very clean and had old world charm and just "felt" like Paris. Granted, it was occasionally noisy with the...

We have returned from staying in this hotel for one night while in Paris. I have to say it was one of the worst hotels that we have ever stayed in. When you walk into the reception of the hotel it is fab and you really think it is going to be a 4 star hotel however when you head...

I was quite anxious when reading the articles about the hotel. Of course the hotel needs a major renovation to match to the today's international standards but you pay for value ! If you want the Ritz just reserve directly ! The staff does it utmost and the room I had was quite correct and clean. The location is prime....

Terrible. I booked this "4" star hotel for about $200 Canadian. I generally gauge a room of this price to be at least adequate....Not this time though. The location is perfect !! But, everything else is a disgrace. The lobby would lead you to believe it's going to be a decent experience...but once you get on the lift, it's another...

I have stayed in many 4-star hotels in my day, and this definitely isn't one of them. It is a 3 star at best (if you are in a forgiving mood) based on the location, but the rooms, food and service would put it at 2 stars. In fact I stayed in Paris at a 2 star and it was...

This hotel never deserves 4 stars: - tiny dilapidated rooms - no hair dryer in room or available at front desk - no in-room internet access as advertised on some websites - WLAN at 30 EUR/day ridiculous expensive - no in-room safe stayed in hotel 12/13 Oct 04

I have just returned from Paris where by an accident of fate I was obliged to stay at the Normandy Hotel. The hotel where I was booked (also 4 star) had had a flood and arranged for me and my friend to be put up at the Normandy for two nights before returning to our originally booked hotel for the...

Quel disappointment! This hotel fully earns all the 1/5 marks other reviewers have given. I haven't got a clue how it maintains its four star status. They must pay by the bucketload. The location is good - virtually next door to The Louvre and the staff were friendly. However, that is where its good points end. The corridor to our...

If I had read the reviews on this site before I booked, I likely would have stayed in a different hotel within the same Hotels de Paris group (such as the Villa Montparnasse where I have stayed before) See: -------------------. Here are the positives and negatives about the Normandy: POSITIVE: Convenient location - I wanted to be close to both...

My wife and i just returned from a two week stay at the Normandy Hotel. I was scared of some of the reviews I read on Tripadvisor, but saw that there were some positive comments there as well, so I emailed the hotel and basically told them that I was going to be there for a while, so make sure...
