Just came back after spending three nights at this hotel. The location is perfect. The RER (light train) will bring you directly to Les Halles. from Charles de Gaulle. If you get the right exit you will be directly outside the hotel main entrance. (exit 10 use the lift). Upon arrival the hotel room was not ready. Returning at check... More

My wife and I just returned from our trip to Europe and were pleased with our stay here from June 10-13th. As you can imagine, the room was not terribly large (the photos posted are about the same as our room), but they are clean and in good repair. The staff were quite pleasant and helpful, particularly the night staff.... More

I stayed here last December (27th - 2nd Jan) and was a little apprehensive as some reviews seemed to imply it was quite average. When we arrived however, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a stones throw from the train station which was great after a rather tiring eurostar journey with two small children. The problem with the french... More

Location was great with many major attractions within walking distance. The room was clean, spacious enough to accommodate 3 people, especially by Paris standards, and quiet (our room was on the 5th floor). Staff was polite and helpful. The surrounding area felt safe enough to walk back to the hotel late at night. Did not have any meals at the... More

I booked via hotel site, as it was the cheapest rate I found. Hotel way exceeded expectations. Travelled with 9 and 11 year old, and they each had a single bed which folded down from sofa. Room was far bigger than any other I'd stayed in, and clean and comfortable. For the quality of the place, it was certainly value... More

I booked the Novotel by searching through the Tripadvisor web site and made a great saving that way. I booked 3 nights and with the mixed reviews wasn't expecting much. To start with the hotel is only 30 mins from CDG airport on the RER train. Get off at the Châtelet le Halles stop. To get out of the train... More

We've just returned after a 2 night stay at this hotel. We had a deluxe room overlooking the Forum des Halles and St Eustache church. The room was modern, clean and well kept. I don't know what other contributors are complaining about. We found the hotel staff to be friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast was substantial and included in our... More

I stayed two nights Thursday and Friday 3 and 4 May 2007. As others have commented, the hotel is very centrally situated being in the Les Halles district and within walking distance of Pompidou Centre. It is at the busy Chatelet RER station with connections to lines A and B as well as to several metro lines. Come out /... More

The only points I can give this hotel are for location and working air conditioning in July. It was fabulous being such a short walk from the Louvre, the Notre Dame, the Hotel de Ville, and Musee d'Orsay. We stayed for 2 nights the first weekend in July 2006 and could not have gotten worse service. The room was never... More

If you like a very modern, spacious and friendly hotel, do not look further! We had a perfect 3 day stay! The Metro and large station is just a minute or two's walk away, it is located in a great, vibrant and safe area near the river and the hotel staff are friendly – what more can you ask for?... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
