We had a great time at this hotel. We thought our room was super cute and quaint with lots of character. The staff was super friendly and we had a great time getting to know some of the college kids working the desk. They also gave us a free pass for a boat tour (for our honeymoon they told us--super...

well....what can I say: Rooms are tiny with no main lighting only bedside lamps. Its close to the Metro about 5 minutes; There is NO Wi Fi: the hotel is very old and the staircase is tiny with a strange tiny lift. Dont come here if you need Wi Fi or if you prefer something modern. they serve breakfast for...

The neighborhood has a produce market, small grocery store, a wine shop, cheese shop, meat shop, flower shop, health food restaurant, and an amazing bakery with coffee and pasterys, all within a block or two. Several restaurants, pretty good too! Staff was always there if anything was needed. They phoned for us to make reservations, and helped us locate places...

Charming? Romantic? hmmm... im not sure about that. This hotel has its pros and cons. Depending on what you value more it may or may not be for you. Just so you know, this is a small - very small - hotel with a comically small elevator - if you're a big boy like me then plan on riding up...

We stayed here for 2 nights for New year 2010/2011 the hotel is very centrally located which was handy for us as we walked the whole Paris during our stay! During our hotel search this was one hotel that was centrally located yet reasonably priced. We cannot fault its location -a stones throw from the Louvre, and it is on...

This hotel is an 18th Century House which is inside Paris artisan district. The area is packed with quirky little antique shops and the Hotel de Beaune holds it self very well in this area. Our greeting was warm and friendly they let us drop our bags and they hadnt been touched when we returned! The lift is something of...

I happened to love this hotel despite the teensy elevator, shady looking room, and that it has to have been a brothel at one point. While it may not appear clean at first glance, the hotel is thoroughly taken care of and cleaned but because it's old, it's stained (not in a gross way though). The room is big enough...

This could be a complete gem of a hotel but the bathrooms and state(rather than style) really let it down.bathtub very stained rather than dirty , Very peeling paint and my room(3) very gloomy indeed . Would much have preferred window onto street as could not open window as not secure opening onto courtyard(despite having requested a room not on...

I booked - recommended - and then found the online reviews, so was a little worried. What ridiculous reviews. It's not the Ritz, it's not an identikit hotel. It's a charming little two star hotel in an ancient Parisian town house bang slap in the centre of Paris for not very much money at all. The rooms are small because...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
