Although this hostel is advertised as a 'boutique' hostel it is very much a typical hostel with a couple of (reportedly nice) private rooms. Highlights were the location and the (true to name) USB outlets and reading light for every bunk. Downsides were the flimsy beds which creaked and moved away from the wall when a guest climbed into the...

Plug-inn is a quality hostel with this price and location. Theor wokers are friendly and debonaor. Close to the Motmartre and Moulin Rouge. There are metro station 5 minutes away from hostel. I just can say one negative thing; bedclothes smell bad.

For the price and location in Paris, I thought it was great. Located 10 minutes from Sacre Coeur Basilica and a two minute walk to Moulin Rouge. Super close to metro. I stayed in a room with two bunk beds-all female room with private bath. Very clean. They have safes\lockers for storing valuables and an area to hold bags for...

A good 5 night stay with my daughter. Good location, small but comfy room and also good breakfast. It is described as a hostel but I would rate 2 or 3 star. Free WiFi all over and 4 laptops in reception for free guest use, which I found very useful to book museum/park tickets. For animal lovers, they have a...

Very nice rooms- mine had 3 bunk beds and its own bathroom which was maintained very well. I was on the very top floor which was quite a hike up the stairs if the elevator was full (which it often was since it only holds 3 people). The staff was great and helped us book a shuttle back to Orly...

Had a great time with my three roommates and all of us were from different continents! Room was a sufficiebt size for backpackers but there is only one bathroom in the room so there was some wait when wanting to shower the travel off you. It was a great location that allowed for me to travel to all nearby attractions!...

Based on the ratings we saw on Hostelworld.com, my son and I felt this hostel was a bit overrated. We climbed 4 flights of stairs, a very small, tight spiral staircase with luggage from a whole semester abroad, no one from reception offered to help. The room was adequate, but there are small things they could do to improve. A...

Great service with friendly staff who were always available when requested. Towels are provided, and replaced daily. Great location, near to the metro and Moulin Rouge. Staff always went the extra mile to please! Rooms are small, but this is the norm for most hostels in Paris.

Strategically located in the lovely neighbourhood of Montmarte with easy access. A short walk from the metro. Plenty of cafes and dining options nearby. Space seems to be a scarcity in this hostel. Everything here seems to be on a small side. Room is clean but small, so is the bathroom. The elevator is definitely the smallest I have ever...

We loved the neighborhood. Nice location in Montmartre, close from the metro. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is OK. Rooms are tiny but that was not a problem for us. When we go back to Paris we will probaby stay at Plug-Inn again.

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
