There's not much special about the Timhotel @ Jardin des plantes. Convenience for business around the university or SIDI offices brought me here. Its a nice, clean and friendly small hotel. Not expensive, an okay breakfast - and location well! close to some good places to walk, the canal and the jardin des plantes. No great restaurants nearby so grab...

Although the staff were friendly and the room was clean we did not feel we got value for money. The pictures of the rooms are misleading: bed was tiny & bathroom was a cupboard with no privacy at all.

Had a Nice stay. Very good location in a peaceful but lively district. Lots of restaurants and bars around. The room was clean and quiet. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff was helpful and really nice.

Nice location! Very small and simple rooms but good for my needs! The location near Jardin des Plantes is very good and also nearby to the Universitè Pierre et Marie Curie. Rue Mouffetard nearby too!!

Was an ok hotel needs some re decorating and could do with more pillows with in the rooms. The bedrooms are very small, some very noisy people that don't care about others sleeping. Room 31 could do with sorting out mould round the top of the window

Again in Paris! Small rooms and expensive. This hotel is like the others in the region. You can get a good location, if you must work in that region, but you need to pay a high price and settle for staying in small rooms. My biggest surprise was with the aisles, most likely less than 60 cm wide!

Location near Jardin des Plantes is perfect. The staff is friendly. Although the bedding is good, the room is really very small, simple, and a bit noisy (if you have neighbors who like to talk). The elevator is also very small. Breakfast too expensive but there are cheaper possibilities nearby.

If your plans are to sightsee and experience real French culture in Paris, this is a really great place to stay. While not the fanciest of hotels (if you are after more of a romantic/luxurious experience) it is close to public transport, the Seine , Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter, making it ideal for those wanting to be out...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
