A charming hotel in an excellent location, walking distance to numerous attractions - the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Eiffel Tower and right on the Seine. Metro & RER station nearby. Comfortable room and with friendly, helpful staff. We couldn't ask for more. Recommended unreservedly!

We have stayed here many times since the early 1990's and have seen a transformation from tawdry to newly renovated and it took many years to accomplish such a feat. If you can obtain a front room you will not only fall in love with the hotel but with magnificent views of the Seine and the Louvre especially at night....

My husband and I have stayed here several times over the past decade. It is the only place we will stay in Paris. Mainly because of the spectacular view this hotel affords you. Get a room on floor 3 or 4,throw open the large french windows, step out onto your balcony and marvel at the picture postcard view you have...

The good: the location is terrific, opposite the Louvres in St. Germain. For the location, the room rates are reasonable. The bad: this hotel needs some major renovation, though no doubt that would put the rate out of reach of most travellers. I have stayed here on and off for the last 10 years because I love the neighbourhood and...

Too hot when you have warm weather in Paris. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel, whenever weather is less than mid 20's Celcius. Great location. Great staff. Take the bigger double rooms on the upper floors. Great view. Noisy street with the windows open though. No screen on big double window. Bar open 24 hours, can bring drinks up to...

Stayed for a few nights in July 2013, and was quite disappointed, almost to the point of moving to another hotel. The only factor which stopped us doing that was the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. They were more than willing to assist with every enquiry. however, the owners of this hotel really need to make some investment in...

We stayed for a week in a large double room on the second floor. This is a clean, comfortable hotel with an excellent view and very friendly staff. It's right across from the Louve and an easy walk to many museums and cafes. And you can catch the metro just down the street. The room was big enough for both...

The location and the view are the two main selling points to this hotel, I don't know of any in Paris that offers a better combination. It was fun to know that we stayed in the same building where several famous people, including Richard Wagner and Oscar Wilde, have lived. Also, the staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Plenty...

I booked this hotel mainly because of the location and views, I was not disappointed by either. A short walk over the bridge to the Louvre and park, 10 minutes to the bars, shops and restaurants of the Latin quarter and about 15 minute stroll to the Eiffel Tower. The hotel itself is looking a little worn. The bathroom was...

We came here due to reasonable price, position and friend's recommendation. Some famous names have stayed here. The room is small and modest with a regular double bed against the wall and a shower so small that you have to open the door to pick up the soap or wash your feet. But we LOVE the view from our 4th...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
