Do not expect 4 or 5 star standards here, in fact it may be a stretch to rate this hotel at 3 star standard. However if you temper your expectations just a little then this hotel will serve as reliable base from which to explore Paris. This hotel is quirky and overflowing with character and olde world charm. Yes the...

This hotel is lovely. The location is fantastic; two minutes walk to St. Michael train station, so on the RER train route from Orly and CDG airports. Less than ten minutes on foot (slowly) to Notre Dame. While one street away from bars and clubs, this street was very small and quiet, and there was no street noise at all...

Hotel du Lys was in a great location, a block from two major intersections and train stations within two blocks. The rooms were small and very basic, but everything worked and the continental breakfast came very quick. The style of the hotel almost seemed a bit tacky, but it's a 400-year old building and that was part of its charm....

This was our first trip to Paris and we could not have picked a better place to stay. The hotel is incredibly charming and very clean. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The location of the hotel was perfect. We were in walking distance to sights, restaurants and shopping.

Amaizing breakfast, good location, great experience to stay at this ancient (y 1600s) building! Staff friendly. The bedroom and bathroom were clean. Access to wifi was ok. The bathroom quite small but it was what we expected. I will definitely come back! I was there January 2015

If you travel to Paris and want to have an extraordinary experience, stay at this hotel. The hotel was build in the early 1600s and has been restored while maintaining much of that period. Because of the age of the building, there are some limitations, but they don't distract from the experience. The newly installed elevator had to fit into...

My friend and I stayed here in May of 2014 but the drop down menu does not let me choose a date that far back. If you are open to quaint, historic and less than pristine, then the Hotel du Lys is an excellent place to stay, giving a flavor of Paris and SUPERB service from management and staff. Lovely...

A few blocks from the Seine and Notre Dame, right on the border between the Latin Quarter and St. Germain des Pres, this location is hard to beat for accessibility to all the major sites in central Paris. A quirky old hotel, more on the order of a hostel, with a new (razor-thin) elevator to get your bags upstairs, and...

Located on a narrow alley that always smelled of pesto (good thing). Small room for us (twin beds), but we were only there to sleep and change clothes. Only a short walk from RER, Metro, and the Seine near Notre Dame. Walking distance from the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay, catacombs, Pantheon, Luxemburg Gardens. Otherwise the place had its charms. Oddly...

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
