Great little hotel. With style and offering fairly budget conscious price. Room comfortable and attractive, albeit small-ish, it was still sufficient in size, because really only wanted to sleep in it, not through a party! It was wonderful to open those lovely shutters on to...More
This hotel has been a superb choice for a holiday in Paris. The room is just perfect over looking the Pantheon/Sorbonne and location is quite central to many sites and museums. The subway is nearby even though we have chosen to walk to the sites....More
Very convenient location when arriving at Gare du Nord as it's a short journey to Luxembourg on RER B. Good choice of buses when sightseeing and good choice of restaurants nearby, including our favourite Le Perraudin.
We stayed in Room 1, a junior suite on the ground floor. It was very spacious, immaculate, lavishly decorated and very well equipped. We thought we might hear noise from the street or the public areas of the hotel. In fact, there was very little...More
I had the pleasure of returning for a stay at the Hotel des Grands Hommes two weeks ago. While I had not stayed there since the 1980's (!), I have recommended the hotel to friends over many years, and all had wonderful experiences. So I...More

The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During
the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.

There's a very good boulangerie just around the corner. The beds are comfortable and of decent size. Location is very good for a first-time visit to Paris - you can walk to many of the main attractions. Have a nice trip.

The rooms are beautifully appointed. You get the real FRENCH feel. They are small though. The bathroom was big. It had a bathtub with a shower. We didn't have a balcony/ terrace. Only stayed one night while passing through Paris. They offered a complimentary glass of wine to us the evening we checked in. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and would also stay here again when in Paris. This area where the hotel is, is so nice.
