as usual in Paris, spaces are limited. However this hotel was very well located, on Rue Monge, really close to main attractions of Paris Latin quarter: Notre dame, la Sorbonne, boulevard Saint-Germain, collège de Paris, boulevard Saint-Michel, vingtaine de Saint-Michel, jardin, etc. at least to metro stations really close, accessible. It does have air conditioning, and lifts, which are pluses...

Stayed here for three nights with friends and family, we booked 4 rooms and requested rooms at the back looking out to the amphitheatre , these were quiet at night and had a lovely view during the day . The Hotel it's self is typical of most Paris hotels , the rooms are small but well laid out with a...

Arriving at the hotel early in the morning, the concierge called to the cleaning person to start with our room so we could get immediately into our room. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The room was plain but clean and comfortable. This hotel is in a great location. It is a 5 minute walk to...

After a long day of traveling, we were able to check in early. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for travelers wanting to see it all. Close to the Notre Dame de Paris and also close to the train. I fully recommend staying at the Hotel Des Arenes if you need something simple and clean for...

For a comfortable hotel in reach of the city this is good value. Clean, comfortable and good location - two metro stations are a short walk away. It is, though a decent walk through the Latin Quarter to paces like Notre Dame. Plenty of food options nearby. We arrived on an early flight and decided to drop our bags off...

Spent 3 nights at Hotel Des Arenes, a very friendly welcoming hotel, nice staff, very helpful. This hotel is perfectly placed to get to all favourite sights, 2 metro stations within 3 minute walk. Our triple room on the 4th floor had a lovely view of the arena, was lovely and warm as heating on full, and always hot water...

We arrived in Paris at 6am from Amsterdam and the Hotel staff was kind enough to find us a room to check in that early. That was most welcomed after an overnight travel. The hotel lobby was not as welcoming because of current renovation that we didn't know about, but checking us early more than compensated for that. The room...

This hotel is in an excellent location with 2 metro stations a couple of mins walk away, it also runs parallel to Rue Mufftard which is a great bustling food and wine street market every day and loads of restaurants at night. You don't need to go into Paris at night as there are so many places to eat and...

The room is quite reasonable by the standards of central Paris for the price you pay: small, of course, but not too small. Very handy for the Metro and buses, also within walking distance of several attractions. And it is just down the street from the Place Monge market and the Rue Mouffetard eateries. We found the front desk staff...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
