Hands down, the reason to stay here is the fantastic location - across the bridge to Notre Dame, across another bridge to Marais, and across 2 bridges to Latin Quarter... the hotel is located on the main street of the Isle Saint Louis, which in and of itself is a place to spend time - cheese shops, bakeries, restaurants, trinket...

Quintessential Parisian hotel. Very lovely. Very accommodating staff, who agreed to move the writer from a boxed- in space to the top floor room facing Rue St Louis. Clean, romantic and well-lit. You could hear the sounds of Paris in the early mornings. Rue St. Louis is also quintessential Parisian, with plenty of restaurants, groceries, fromageries, patisseries, creperies, art studios,...

The location is excellent, a great place from which to explore the city. The room was small but comfortable, the staff are friendly and there are a number of good places to eat within easy reach. Will probably stay here again when we return to Paris!

A wonderful hotel, located in a very quaint but bustling street in the Latin Quarter, a 5 minute walk from Notre Dame. Staff are more than helpful, even before we arrived in Paris they helped us pre-book a Seine dinner cruise, complete with transport to and from the hotel, and while we were there, they recommended and booked excellent restaurants...

The hotel employees were all very friendly and helpful. The service was excellent and the location very central and good for our purposes. We really enjoyed it! The elevator was small and slow but beat using the stairs with luggage. We would return here.

We stayed three nights and enjoyed it - we'd go back. It was comfortable and extremely well located for seeing the sights. The staff were really good friendly and attentive - and cheerful too! We had one double room and one single. They're not big but they are fine. The bathrooms are a decent size. They were very clean and...

The rooms are small but cost half other central locations. The staff were responsive, welcoming, helpful. The room was cozy with a comfortable chair. Pretty decor. Across the street, a boulangerie as well as a cheese shop. Down the way, a wine shop.

We book a triple room for 4 nights, service was friendly and prompt. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was ok. Great area, very close to several metro stations and landmarks. Lots of shops and cafes in the area.

We booked through hotels.com for one night in a triple room (yes, we had 3 single beds!) in December and it was $185 (booked about 3 weeks out). We were pleasantly surprised with how quaint the hotel is. There is a teeny elevator to go up to your room and our room was surprisingly large with a huge bathroom. The...

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
