We made a reservation at the last minute and were well accommodated. The location is excellent - 200 yards of Boulevard St. Germain and 200 feet from Rue Jacob. The rooms were small, but that is to be expected at a hotel such as this. the rooms were hot...we had the windows open at night to cool-down the room. The...

we stayed for two nights in this hotel. Through Tripadvisor, we knew that the noice of the parisian metro can be heard in the rooms, but they don't travel at night, and you get used to even at the 2nd level. That the sleepingroom and the bathroom are small, we knew too from Tripadvisor, but they are very clean, and...

This is a nice hotel and I have stayed there a number of times over the years. However in December 2011 I stayed for 3 days and came home with bed bug bites. I only noticed them as I left the hotel but did nothing at the time as I was busy travelling. Over the next few days and weeks,...

We have stayed in this hotel several times now. Every room has an individuality, and every room is very French. It is quite a tiny authentic hotel, in a perfect location - less than a minute's walk to St Germain des Pres, and great cafes, five minutes to the Seine across from the Louvre and Notre Dames. The service is...

This was our main problem ..so much that we felt groggy and dehydrated each morning when we left hotel. We had to keep our window open all night very wide (very wide in winter)... to try and get some air into room. A very nice gentleman at desk did try to turn it down but to no avail. The bathroom...

We came to Saint Germaine from New Years craziness around the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. I felt like I had walked into a story book village with the Christmas market outside the Abbey and the trees and cafes were all lit up with white twinkle lights. I had read some negative reviews about this hotel being too small...

Stayed for two nights in a superior double room (€170 per night). Breakfast (€10) well worth it . Fresh croissants , Pan au Chocolates, bread rolls, meats, cheeses , cereals ,fresh fruit , yogurts, freshly squeezed orange juice and Tea or coffee. Staff were excellent , nothing was a problem for them. They organised airport shuttles and last minute Moulin Rouge...

As a family we recently stayed at the Hotel for two nights and found it to be the perfect location to enjoy the Left Bank and surrounding areas. Metro stop one block away. Great restaurants and cafe's all in walking distance. The hotel itself was charming, rooms were all nicely decorated with updated bathrooms - all very clean and neat....

Stayed for 4 nights and found the place to be charming. The room was a decent size, the service accommodating and friendly, the location unbeatable. Although lacking amenities (no restaurant, bar, gym etc) the location more than compensates offering a plethora of eating and drinking opportunities meters from the hotel door. As a base to see the best of Paris...

Just stayed for three nights in this small hotel in Saint Germain des Pres. Location is great. A few blocks to the Seine and right across the river from the Louvre. Plenty of restaurants in a short walk and a great dessert shop right down the street. The Saint Germain des Pres metro stop is a block away at the...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
