Well, just to counter the last two reviews: We arrived at the hotels with reservations made on the internet, that were not cleared with the hotel!! Needless to say the hotel was packed full. The amazing staff worked themselves half the night to locate alternative rooms for us at other hotels, and even arranged complimentary breakfast, even though it was...

I spent 10 days at the hotel in June of 2008. The only thing I was glad at was the staff: they were really attentive and friendly. The room and all were disappointed. The room was very small, not clean and bad- equipped: there was no mini-bar, no air-condition, a built-in closet with broken doors. We opened windows, but it...

My family and I stayed at the Plaza Opera in June 2007. It is currenly undergoing renovation so there were a couple of occasions where the stairs were unusable however there was a small lift. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast room is in the basement but was bright and cheerful. The breakfast was simple and fresh. Our...

Arrived at the Hotel and it did not look like the pictures posted on the Internet. Booked a twin room was given a double. Asked to be changed to the correct room, this room had a table on the floor which should have been attached to the wall. The ceiling had a hole in it, so we went back to...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
