My room was surprisingly small, but given the small amount of time I would be spending there I wasn't too bothered. The problem however was the damp sewage type smell that seemed to get worse through the night. I told reception about it in the morning and said I was surprised that I was the first person to notice it.... More

My directors came back from this hotel covered in spots due to a serious case of bed bugs!!! Having read similar reviews - this is obviously an on-going problem so we will never use this hotel again! It also had appaling air conditioning and is not at all comfortable to stay at. There are plenty of other hotels in this... More

We stayed here for 3 nights on the 1st January. The hotel is very well located with great bars and places to eat close by. The hotel staff are very friendly and the rooms are quite spacious. If you are going to Paris would recommend very highly

I stayed in the Best Western Astra Opera during a whirlwind tour of Paris. The location was convenient – close to the Opera and Havre-Caumartin Metro stops. It is also a short walk to Galeries Lafayette. The décor was nice and tasteful. While the room was small, it was exactly what we expected from the pictures on the Best Western... More

I stayed at this hotel, but sadly not by choice. I had booked into Hotel Joyce (luxe recommended) and was moved to this hotel as Hotel Joyce was fully booked! This hotel, was nice, clean, beds comfy, didn't rise in time for breakfast, but a nice enough business hotel. It was a good location with lots of shops nearby. I... More

One out of many good hotels in the opera area close to large stores and theaters. Higher end hotel in this segment with clean rooms and good service. Breakfast could offer a larger choice but food is OK.

This is a nice clean hotel in Paris. One of the best places to stay location wise because 1. close to the train station 2. close to major restaurants and if you really want to save there's a grocery store down the block. 3. close to the Paris Opera which is good because two out of the three free walking... We had booked the Opera Hotel 3* which is next door with Hotels4U but upon our arrival we were informed that they had received the booking so late (we booked five months earlier) that it was fully booked so we were moved to Astra next door which is supposed to be a 4*. We were on the top floor in... More

I stayed at this property in late July 2011, as a business traveller needing a central Paris/Opera hotel for one night, to be near my company's office. Be warned -- photos online make this hotel look better than than it when you walk in the door -- it's barely Two-Star, not the Four Stars that it's ranked at, or a... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
