We stayed here for our quick stay in Paris for 2 nights. I reviewed tripadvisor before I booked the room and we had a pleasant stay. The location is awesome. Not in the touristy part of town but still close to the Seine (a couple blocks) and metro. You felt like you got to experience the local neighborhood. Many bakeries...

I stayed in this hotel for a total of 6 nights on my own and as part of a tour. The location is a short walk from Notre Dame and the Pantheon in the Latin Quarter. It is also near several Metro stops (3-4 blocks). The staff is quite helpful with tolerable English. The rooms are small, probably to make...

Great location and charming boutique hotel with beautiful flowers on the window sills. Hotel staff was very nice. Will stay here again. It is 5 minute walk from Pantheon and Notre Dame which you should not miss at night when it is all lit up. Walk to it at night for an after dinner stroll. The Latin Quarter is 10-15...

We just returned from a short trip to Paris. On arrival at the Hotel Minerve, the staff wasextremely helpful and accommodating. The rooms are small (common for Europe) and spotlessly clean. My room had a patio which made it absolutely wonderful! The highlight of my stay at the Minerve was the evening concierge Djamal (sorry if I misspelled his name)....

My husband and I spent our one night in Paris at the Hotel Minerve. We wish we had stayed elsewhere. A fiasco! We arrived in the pouring rain 45 minutes before check in time and were told we could store our bags in the "Luggage room" while we waited -Beware - the ceiling leaks! Cup of tea?- a seat in...

Spent five days here with my adult daughter. Rooms typically European sized but very clean - tiled bathroom almost spacious. Didn't bother including breakfast as delicious bakery right across street although "take out" coffee/tea is NOT easily understood/arranged but they tried. Had small balcony with bistro table/chairs and friendly birds - really added to the room (no extra cost -...

My wife and daughter and I had a fine 8 night stay at Hotel Minerve. The staff members were all cheerful and eager to help. Fresh flowers at desk each morning. We received help on metro stops, van to airport, airplane confirmation via e mail. When we needed to change plans, the staff researched and accommodated us. Very convenient location...

the hotel minerve in paris is a very good place to stay. as is the norm in europe the rooms were fairly small, but not so much that you did not have some space to move around. as for all the good things: the price was very reasonable and comparable to all the other hotels. the location (latin quarter) was...

We called the Hotel La Famille just about 48 hours ahead of our needing a quad room for our family in Paris. I had read that the managers were very hospitable and indeed they were very helpful when we called. La Famille did not have a room for both nights so they suggested La Minerve, their sister property right next...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
