The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance of the Seine. It is well designed with a modern boutique look. Our room was small but pleasing to the eye as was the bathroom, although no bath, just a shower, which was fine with us. Everything was clean and new looking. It was nice and quiet and the air...

Perfect location over looking La Sorbonne. Just as described by the website and rooms perfect ambience for romantic break. Superb design features in the lounges and breakfast room. only thing that was a little disappointing was the shower; attachment to the bath and no showere curtain/shield. Otherwise absolutely perfect. It is located just on the edge of the latin quarter,...

Great hotel! Clean, stylish, modern, convenient. Everything looks newly renovated. Excellent location next to Sorbonne and just a couple blocks from the Luxembourg Gardens (don't miss it!) and the Pantheon. Also don't miss the cute Rue de Mouffetard behind the Pantheon. The rooms are sort of small but that's very normal for Paris. (Previously we stayed in the Best Western...

A pleasant surprise on arrival. It is beautifully situated with immediate views of the gorgeous architecture of the Sorbonne and fountain water feature. The hotel is clean and modern and the staff are approachable, unfailingly helpful and knowledgeable. Its position is within easy distance of numerous tourist sights such as Sorbonne (5 second walk), Notre Dame (approximately 7 leisurely minutes...

We are had already walked passed the hotel, when eventually the hotel was pointed out to us. We entered a lovely minimalist foyer and were greeted by a member of staff. We were given our key and we made our own way up to our room in a small lift. A clean but compact en-suite room awaited us. It was...

The hotel has very nice rooms and the location is great at a nice place. You can walk to Quartier Latin and Notre Dame. Breakfast is pretty French. That means it doesnt have a lot of offers. Could be improved for international travelers. Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

This was a second visit to this hotel. Located right in front of the entrance to the Sorbonne, the hotel is both relatively quiet, yet on a lively square. Really close to St. Germain, great shopping, walking distance to lots. Also close to both the Metro and RER which is super convenient to and from CDG airport. Service is friendly...

I have beeen lucky enough to work in Paris on and off for the last few years - so have seen a good many business class hotels. I have also had the "pleasure" of several standard 3star hotels. This time I was returning on a leisure trip with my wife & daughter. After much deliberation I chose this hotel -...

Traveled to Paris over Easter weekend with my SO. We had a reservation at another hotel in the area, but upon arrival we discovered that it was still partly under construction. We made the decision to stay elsewhere. We ended up booking the Select Hotel in a rush after reading reviews and looking at photos on TA and Expedia. The...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
