I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. It was conveniently located close to the RER-B train line to/from CDG airport AND in a great area of Paris, les Halles. It was also at walking distance from other great sights in Paris such as Notre-Dame, St-Germain des Prés, the Louvre etc. The staff was friendly and they honored my request...

Very nice Hotel with helpful staff, small but clean rooms nicely located in the heart of Paris with everything you need just around the corner. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with trouble walking in steep stairs but otherwise no problem. I would definitely consider staying here again for my next visit to Paris.

We needed a centrally located hotel for a few nights and were very happy with Hotel du Cygne. It is a couple blocks from the Chatelet-des-Halles RER station hub from which you catch the train (RER B) to Charles de Gaulle airport. (The express train starts after noon although the regular train isn't too slow). We were able to easily...

Nice people at the front desk, clean rooms, inexpensive and well located. Have been going there over the years when I am on a tight budget and will keep going back I am sure. Have tried almost every room in the hotel by now and not disapointed.

I stayed at the hôtel du cygne when visiting friends in Paris. It is ideally situated - a short walk from the pompidou centre, Les halles and the seine, and in the heart of party central for those in that way inclined. Probably not for those with kids given the proximity to what is essentially the red light district. Rooms...

I chose this hotel based purely on the location. I wanted somewhere that I could get the RER directly from CDG and directly to Disneyland Paris. Got off the RER and you're in a massive shopping centre. Go to the top floor and that's how you exit, it's a little difficult to explain but head towards where Superdry is on...

Hotel have great location and there's a lot restaurants and shops around. Our room was really small but that's Paris so I didn't expect anything else. There's no elevator and stairs are pretty steep so if this bothers you then this isn't hotel for you 😉 We wanted something that will have Parisian look and charm so we didn't mind...

Booked here for 2 nights to see Springsteen at Bercy Arena. Easy to get to from Gard du Nord just a few stops on the Metro, and the hotel is a very short walk from the nearest Metro stop. Despite its location, the streets were very quiet late at night, although maybe not at the weekend. Room was clean and...

Our room was small even for Paris, however everything worked in the room and the bed was very clean. The style of the rooms is very out-dated even though it's an old style hotel. Carpet looked like its from the 60's! You would really be staying here for the location which is very central. We didn't have the breakfast but...

The greatest feature of this hotel is its location: just a small walk from Chatelet-Les-Halles, one of the main underground stations in Paris, with plenty of restaurants and shops around. On the downside, it is a bit noisy at night because of passers-by. The rooms are fine but because it is an old building, they are really tiny, basically just...

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The timelessness of the place, the warmth of the fabrics and materials as well as the presence of wooden period furniture carefully gathered from years of going round the Clignancourt flea market, they all take part in the maintenance of a cosy atmosphere here at the Hôtel du Cygne. It is an invitation to relaxation and well-being and your host Isabelle has made sure everything has been taken care of so that you feel completely at home. What is more, this lifestyle can be enjoyed in the 20 rooms of the hotel, each one being specifically furnished with taste. Hence, every room has a unique character due to the attention paid to each one of them. For example, a writing desk in the French Empire style can be found next to a piece of polished Provençal furniture or even an Art Deco occasional table. Or you may also like how a particular bedspread actually matches curtains which are delicately adorned with ribbons or even the small bag of lavender that we put in the cupboards so that the rooms carry around the sweet smell of bygone days... Each room has a television set, a telephone and a safe for you to put your valuable items. They also have a bathroom with all the modern comfort that you will need : a shower or a bath, toilets and a washbasin standing on marble slabs that are assorted with the tiled floors. ... more   less
