In September, we stayed at Hotel de l'Avenir ...again. While it has been 25 years since the last visit to Paris (our bad) we always stay at this hotel. The rooms are fine, clean with wifi, tv with many channels, including BBC and CNN if you search. The desk clerks are great (esp. Madame xxx, who's name I did not...

Lovely B&B. Friendly welcome. Good size room. Very clean and tidy. Was a bit outside Busmills but we were given the number of a local taxi driver who collected us promply. We were only waiting 10 minutes. I will return for another weekend in the future.

Situated near Jardin de Luxenbourg and a short walk from Gare de Monteparnasse. Very close to the city centre of Paris and all the points of interest. You walk straight throug the garden and both Notre Dame and Louvre are within walking distance (i.e. if you like walking). My room was very small, but clean. The staff in the reception...

I needed a quiet central hotel to write and the Hotel de l'Avenir was perfect. The staff were so kind. The room light, clean and it was wonderful to be just by the jardin du Luxembourg. This is a traditional, family run Parisian hotel and I thoroughly recommend it.

Wonderful staff and location. Hotel is comfortable in the tradition of family-style hotels. Neighborhood is quiet--real rarity in the 6th arrondissement. Owner is delightful and has maintained a charming hotel for a generation.

Location of the hotel is good. Close to Rennes metro station. Around the hotel is also so safe. You can go out whenever. There is a Carrefour close to hotel. Rooms are little bit small, there is a cattle in the room. Free wifi also. Clean enough. Thanks for Kind and helpful stuff. We generally liked it. Good choice.

Okay, so you could only see the very top of the Eiffel Tower .. and it was only really clearly spotted at night .. but we were still pretty excited!! The view down below is a lovely Parisian street. Great price, small room but cosy and functional, very helpful 24hr reception, hotel has a lift (small/old but functional - saves...

I spent 4 nights at this hotel late December 2014. Hotel is located near Luxemburg gardens on a small quiet street, so sleeping quality is good. Hotela has good commuting position for visiting Paris atractions. Stuff is pleasent and helpfull. Rooms are clean and with decent space but hotel in overall is "tired". Buffet-restaurant is very small and offers only...

I had the worst experience ever with a female recepcionist in the moment of checking out. My plan was to pay in cash and when i gave her a 500 euros note (i had to pay 420) she tells with the most rude manners that she didn´t have change, that she wasn´t obliged to have change so i had to...

We were sent to this hotel after our chosen hotel stuffed up our booking. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise and we stayed for 7 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful and had good English. The location is excellent, right near the Jardin du Luxembourg and the shops and restaurants of St Germain and the...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
