Really nice classic charm, art deco look. Complimentary breakfast was good, nice croissants. Located in nice, safe neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and also convenience stores. Staff nice except for man in evenings he was a bit unfriendly.

Montmartre is a beautiful part of Paris, it has a really nice atmosphere and the surrounding area feels very safe which was nice since I was travelling alone. The hostel hasn't really got a social atmosphere though, even at breakfast people didn't seem to want to chat which was odd in comparison with my experiences of hostels in other European...

Needed somewhere cheap and close to a car park so chose this place. The four person room was quite small, and the shower was insanely tiny. Probably about 3 sqm. Will do for a cheap sleep but don't expect much from the place. On the plus side, all four of us got our own key card to get in. That's...

A friend and I stayed here when we visited for Euro2016. It is fairly close to the bars and clubs near Moulin Rouge etc. We had a twin room with its own toilet and shower. It was clean and tidy. It was my first experience of a hostel so have nothing to judge it against but there seemed to be...

Really nice room, better than we expected, relaxed environment and good tasty breakfast. All the staff are willing to help and it is in a great location. Only issue was the temperamental shower! Nearby the Lamarck caulaincourt metro station and opposite a mini supermarket

Stayed here for 4 nights during Euro 2016. Twin room with TV, private toilet and shower. At £60 a night it's decent value. 2 mins walk from Lamark metro station, there's a cafe right next door and an affordable laundrette and shop (open until 2am) 10 seconds around the corner. Super stuff. Free breakfast includes croissant, baguette, jams, teas, coffee,...

stayed here for a total of 8 days in the 6bed female dorm. While the first 3 nights were booked online, I wished to extend my stay but was told suddenly the price had gone up (even though it was a Monday and no holiday). The staff was OK, not super helpful nor gave much advice as to the local...

Great please to stay at! Right next to a great bakery, and in the heart of MontMartre, the arty district of Paris! All the roads are small and quiet, as it's just outside the busy part of Paris, but it's a 2 minute walk from the station, and the trains are really easy to work out after your first day!...

This hostel is by no means state-of-the-art. The rooms are not huge, the bathrooms are small, the hallways are narrow. But the location is absolutely breathtaking. In the heart of Montmartre, which, in my opinion, is the most beautiful, romantic section of Paris, nestled right between several great restaurants and coffee shops, a mere flight of stairs away from the...

The Caulaincourt is a hotel and hostel in one. They have dorms and also single and double rooms. From my room I had a great view of Paris by the stairway to Montmartre. The location is as good as you can get it: a 5 minute walk to the famous Place du Tertre on the hill of Montmartre. Walk a...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
