I stayed here for an overnight stopover. I've been to Paris before and stayed near Champs Élysées and Louvre museum so I wanted to stay in a less touristy area for a change. It's situated in a quiet square from a busy train station but the neighbourhood is quite lively with many cafes, shops and other basic amenities . The...

A lot of hotels have a nice exterior and an attractive reception area but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. The Central Hotel is the opposite! Behind the unassuming frontage, signage and reception are some of the smartest rooms I have ever seen. I would surmise that a lot of money was spent on both the design and...

Very well situated only minutes from Montparnasse Station and very close to theatres, cinemas and eateries in this very busy area. Clean and modern - although a little soulless. Good lift (thank goodness). Rooms a little small. Free WiFi was good even on floor five. Breakfast available but lots of choice around. No problems if you accept limitations and value...

I was looking for a Hotel near Gare Montparnasse and was attracted by its positive reviews and cheap cost. It's nothing fancy, but it doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is, which I appreciate. There was a bit of a murmur during the evening from nearby cafes (my room faced the street). With the building's modern windows...

The front desk staff are helpful and informative, the rooms are compact (it is central Paris) but modern and clean and the location near the Montparnasse tower is perfect for alternative Metro lines. I don't want to say too much because it's a little gem of a hotel that I want to keep to myself ;-)

Stayed for 4 nights with my son. It was an excellent base for exploring Paris. The neighborhood felt safe and there are many restaurants and a supermarket near by. The room was nice and clean and had a bathtub.

The location was superb, near the metro and train station, with nearby restaurants, on a charming street with a playground across the street. The hotel was clean, breakfast was good, staff were helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

It is a basic hotel, but for me its location to Gare Montparnasse. It was an easy walk with hiking pack to catch the TGV. The staff were friendly and were happy to speak English. It was located near plenty of restaurants and a shopping mall.

As a solo traveller on a trip for work, this hotel met my needs perfectly well. The room was fairly basic, and the decor and furnishings could do with an update - but it was clean and well-maintained with a comfortable enough bed. The free wi-fi was also reliable and of a decent speed, so my needs for this trip...

Near a lovely local Saturday market and shops and also a supermarket for grabbing the essential cheese bread and wine french picnic to have in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. The hotel was clean and staff very friendly - our room was spacious with a lovely bathroom and nice full length windows that open so you can hear the...

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
