We chose this hotel for the location: near the art exhibit and a large variety of restaurants within walking distance. We were delighted with the service, the decor, the quality of the breakfast and the cleanliness.

This small boutique hotel was both elegant and nicely appointed. The location is superb and at the corner of the square so it was quiet. Stayed for 3 nights with my husband last year (forgot to write the review at the time and am back in Paris so am reminded). Attentive staff and perfect breakfast rounded out our stay.

I've been coming to Paris all my life and never have been able to find a small and elegant hotel, which is well located, to my taste. I was very happy to have finally found the Hotel Recamier, which will be the place I stay in the future. The location is fantastic! If you want to be in St. Germain...

This is a small hotel tucked away in a corner of Plae Saint Sulpice. There is nothing particularly amazing about this hotel, nothing to make it truly stand out. However, it is tastefully furnished, charming, with a friendly accueil, it has a nice location, and prices are reasonable. Rooms range from very small to medium-sized, and quite a few face...

Hotel Recamier is a boutique hotel with a narrow facade and several stories high. The room I stayed in was small (standard by Paris standards) however beautifully fitted out. There is a small lounge downstairs where they serve breakfast or you can sit and relax. The location is a short stroll to to Boulevarde Saint Germain and right near the...

The hotel is one of the leading small hotels in Paris - the staff is excellent and the hotel is situated in a very nice and calm area of Paris - St. German. Rooms are not too big but very well decorated. It is like coming home.

This little hotel is tucked away on Place St Sulpice. The perfect place for a romantic getaway. The rooms are small but very, very comfortable. The location is close to a lot of restaurants and shopping. 2 Blocks from Luxembourg Gardens, walking distance to the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay. Management is very helpful (especially when I lost my wallet) I...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Discreetly nestled behind the trees on Place Saint Sulpice in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés area, Hotel Récamier is about to become a new exclusive address in Paris. The hotel should meet the expectations of travellers in search of confidential addresses such as those exchanged between well travelled and demanding friends.Half of the 24 rooms have a direct view on the place. The rooms have been superbly revamped by the renowned interior designer Jean Louis Deniot who was inspired to create 24 entirely different rooms with one theme per floor. On a classical basis he has added some eclecticism inspired by the various 20th century decorative styles. You will find neither hyper exuberance nor minimalism: here we are talking real Parisian elegance. ... more   less
