Horrible service by the front desk people. Charged 3 times city tax, only invoiced 2 times. Made a lot of warnings about hotel rules like we were clandestines. Poorest breakfast ever. Ridiculous small room. No air conditioning. Wi-fi did not worl 50% of the time I will never stay there again.

It's only a 2 star but I'm not one to chose based on that ... My criteria for hotel are location, cleanliness and price ... And this one fit perfect ... Located five blocks from Gallerie Lafayette ... Where you can catch buses, metro or hop on off buses ... Several cafes and restaurants everywhere you turn. The staff was...

It's a good hotel, near the centre with a great view from the window. There were gentle people that offered great service. It p0 a great experience for me and my family. We enjoyed this trip and saw the beautiful Paris with the great museums, Arc of Triompf, Eiffel tour, Notre Dame, Sacre coeur, Mouline Rouge etc. Thank you!

The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and cozy. Nice view of the parisian streets, really close to the center and the nearest metro station was 3 minutes away! Overall, it was a nice experience and a great value for money! Would recommend it for a short stay

So for a week's stay in central Paris I selected Hotel Monte Carlo for accessibility to two metro stops and for value price. Both of those proved worthwhile. The surrounding neighborhood however was unsettling with traffic noise, nearby nightclubs with noisy patrons into the wee hours and a "variety" of very diverse ethnic makeup. The eateries close by were fine...

We stayed in the Montreal room. The room is small but tidy and clean - perfect for a weekend stay. The location was ideal and we paid probably the lowest rate around for a stay in Paris. The only negative is that the room would get quite hot at night, but we simply kept the window slightly open on the...

We enjoyed our stay in hotel Monte Carlo, arrived 4h before check in and left our luggage. Beautiful and quiet neighborhood, with the best metro stations 1 and 5 minutes away. Short walk to Sacre Coeur, Louvre and Galleries Lafayette, and long but possible walk to Eiffel tower. :) Room was clean, neat, with very good heating, and the lovely...

In Paris Metro location is everything. Having a 2 minute walk to a metro stop von one of the most used Metro lines is key and this hotel is perfect for that. The service is great as I had a complication that was dealt with speedily and generously. My room had ensuite shower and sink and a nearby toilet a...

I've been to Paris many times and stayed in lots of different hotels. Rooms are pretty much always small and expensive if you want to stay centrally. So for 40 euros a night, I didn't have terribly high expectations for the Hotel Monte Carlo, and ended up really happy with this choice. One caveat: that rate was for a room...

Friendly staff, clean and quiet place. Close to city centre. Price is good if to compare with other city centre hotels. Breakfast is expensive . Rooms are small but look good. Ask for discount at the desk. Restaurants and shops are close to the hotel

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
