Spent two days with a friend in that hotel located on the picturesque mostly pedestrian Daguerre street (especially the part near Denfert) but presently being repaved. The room, on the first floor (not groundfloor!), was tiny but comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. Our room was overlooking the street which was quiet as we stayed just over the weekend. Staff...

I was given my visit as a surprise Birthday present by my daughter and can only say that my stay at the hotel made my trip even more special. Location is great and very good local restaurants nearby. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel itself very clean and very quiet for a good nights sleep after a day of...

Staff is great! Breakfast is very nice. If you have an aversion to stairs, get over it! The elevator was installed after the hotel was built and is situated at l/2 floors! Yup. 1/2 floors...spent three nights there. Location is fabulous. Street in front under construction...but should be done by summer....Staying in Montparnesse is a treat and is where we...

We found this hotel through Booking. It is quite well situated. We arrived at Orly and took the Orlybus to Denfert-Rochereau. Once there it was a 12 minute walk to the hotel. We were made most welcome by the gentleman on duty. As others have mentioned, you have to walk half a flight upstairs to the tiny lift. This was...

Great location. Short walk to fabulous markets and lots of small restaurants. Room small, double bed only, bathroom adequate and has a heated towel rail. Downside is a shower over the bath so care needed for people who are unsteady on their feet. There is a tiny 1 person lift but some stairs are required as well... So a bit...

Stayed here for 7 nights the rooms are clean and tidy and typically French by size yet adequate. We arrived on a Saturday night to the hustle of the street vendors a real fun place to wander around. Resturaunts are fabulous here in the street we ate in different ones each night. Some great take away food if you can...

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a ground floor room as requested, small but perfectly adequate, large bathroom, it was all a bit old-fashioned but it was fine. Good air conditioning and small fridge with complimentary water. Buffet breadfast which was served in basement. Choice of two cereals, boil your own egg, ham, cheese, croissants, yogurt and fruit puree,...

I am writing this having checked in this evening for a one night, solo stay. This hotel is well located, reasonably priced, excellent concierge at the reception who provided excellent advice on the place, surroundings, etcetera. He was also kind enough to put up with my less than splendid French and happily explained the tariff other aspects as many times...

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
