Great location. Short walk to fabulous markets and lots of small restaurants. Room small, double bed only, bathroom adequate and has a heated towel rail. Downside is a shower over the bath so care needed for people who are unsteady on their feet. There is a tiny 1 person lift but some stairs are required as well... So a bit...

Stayed here for 7 nights the rooms are clean and tidy and typically French by size yet adequate. We arrived on a Saturday night to the hustle of the street vendors a real fun place to wander around. Resturaunts are fabulous here in the street we ate in different ones each night. Some great take away food if you can...

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a ground floor room as requested, small but perfectly adequate, large bathroom, it was all a bit old-fashioned but it was fine. Good air conditioning and small fridge with complimentary water. Buffet breadfast which was served in basement. Choice of two cereals, boil your own egg, ham, cheese, croissants, yogurt and fruit puree,...

I am writing this having checked in this evening for a one night, solo stay. This hotel is well located, reasonably priced, excellent concierge at the reception who provided excellent advice on the place, surroundings, etcetera. He was also kind enough to put up with my less than splendid French and happily explained the tariff other aspects as many times...

We were looking for a hotel convenient to Gare Montparnasse and this Daguerre property suited our needs. As previously noted, small rooms, unusual staircase, etc making it a typical older European hotel, with it's own charm and appeal. One of the few hotels remaining that require you to drop off your key when you leave the property. A few good...

The hotel is in need of redecoration, however it is clean and the customer service by all staff is excellent. We did not eat in the hotel as there are many places to eat and drink in the road, including market food shops. The hotel rooms are very small and when two adults are in the room, it can be...

Pro If you're on a tight budget, but want to stay close to rail station, this is a good choice. There is an Indian restaurant beside the hotel. Con Everybody else has talked about the lift, yes it is a bit uncomfortable, but we managed quite OK even with our 3 year old.

Well-located near the metro and RER, with many great creperies in the vicinity. Rooms are small as expected from the center of a European city so no surprises there. Pleasant staff at the counter- had no other interaction with them.

We had a nice stay here for three nights. Our intention was to visit Paris and discover the city. We did not intend to spend much time at the hotel. Therefor we didn't want a expensive or luxury hotel. The price was okey and the quality were as well. It is centrally placed nearby montpernasse. We walked to the Eiffel...

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
