We stayed 4 nights in this hotel with my family. I booked it for 80EUR per night which is quite cheap for hotels in Paris. Room was heavily used, but clean enough. Housekeeping was perfect and invisible. Reception lady gave us misleading information about museum open hours and messed up the payment process (charged me 3 times same amount which...

I stayed at this hotel for over 10 days in both 2002 and 2007 and was looking forward to my return. Thankfully this time it was only 4 nights. There use to be one English TV channel but this has now disappeared. I now travel with a laptop and was pleased to see wifi advertised. I paid 10 euros for...

I stayed in a small studio with kitchen and balcony. The room was small by North American standards, but bigger than most rooms in other hotels where my friends stayed. There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel. It is close to a Metro station. The bathroom and kitchen was clean. Avenue de Choisy is not a very quiet street,...

We have stayed in this hotel four times now and will return. Especcially for the small kitchen with refrigirator. Friendly staff and reasonnably clean rooms. We did not try the breakfast but go to the nearby monoprix for delicious bread, hams etc. Lovely and cheap vietnamese and chinese restaurants like Bamboo and Tricotin nearby. For Parisian standards good value. Eric,...

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighbourhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
