The hotel is very nice and chic, bedrooms are very spacious and the view is very Parisian. Breakfast is great I asked for gluten free bread and they got it just for me. Very very nice people working there. They were very helpful I had a great stay.

Very nice "boutique" hotel in the center of Paris. Almost everything is within 15 minutes walk except for the Eiffel Tower and The Louvre museum. The only drawback is that the closest Metro station is about a 10 minute walk away.

Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for retreiving your stay in our hotel. We are glad to read you enjoy your stay with us and our central location. That is a shame but there is probably a misunderstanding about Metro station. Indeed you can reach Metro station Sevres Babylone in 1mn by walk, and Saint Placide on another...

We just stayed here for three nights and the staff were possibly the most hospitable we have ever experienced. The room, the breakfast, the service, the location were all just wonderful. The location gave access to wonderful cafe's, shopping and public transportation. Everything you would want in Paris get away.

Definitely a great choice for Paris. The room was a little smaller than what I'm used to but the bathroom was larger than most so that kind of evened out. Most of all, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Best hotel staff I encountered this whole trip.

Stayed here for 5 nights with my husband and 3 teenage boys. We absolutely LOVED Le Placide and it's very personalized service. Friendly and helpful staff who made sure they were able to help in whatever way they can. I left my shopping bag in a Cafe with an old scarf which I loved, and I asked if they could...

Great little hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, easy place to stay and in a great area to get around and see the sights or mooch nearby. Direct metro from Gare du Nord. Small and compact but very pleased we stayed there.

My wife and I stayed in Le Placide for 4 nights in June 2016. We are regular visitors to Paris and always stay in the 6th arrondissement, but this was our first time at Le Placide. It was an excellent experience - bright, comfortable room, proper bathroom with bath, very friendly and helpful staff, and a great location for us....

This is a boutique hotel (i.e. small and well furnished..) - the reception staff was absolutely charming (and had a Bradley Cooper lookalike who was such a good looking man!); but overall I found it pricey for the facilities that it offers. Basically, it is a very narrow building, with a tiny lift, tiny landings (1metre wide approx) on which...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
