Clean and simple place in a pleasant and lively neighbourhood. If you do not plan to spend much time in the hotel and are a sound sleeper (i.e. do not mind a little street noise and noises from neighbouring rooms), this is a good place for you! Personal recommendation: avoid the overpriced breakfast buffee and have a café and a...

I was expecting better and was a little disappointed. This is a budget hotel in a good budget location; with good access to underground network. Rooms are small and the beds are not particularly comfortable. Paris is expensive so cannot have it both ways. It is a touch noisy - but many would say vibrant.

The Hotel faces a busy intersection with lots of noise during the night; an investment in better windows would help this a lot and give one more star on my scale. Otherwise, I am satisfied. Great neighbourhood.

Brilliant value. Comfortable bed. Spotless room and bed. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Walls are thin. We could here people at it all night and all day. No toilet or shower in our room which made me feel uncomfortable but its what my partner booked, I wasn't aware until we got there. Long uneven old stairs the whole way up...

I have read many negative reviews of this hotel but it isn't that bad. Acutally it's quite good. I have a pleasant stay at Tolbiac. The staff is ok, not super friendly but they're polite and helpful. The steep stair is not much a problem (I have a single room on the 3rd floor). The breakfast (7.5 Euro per day)...

I tried to book a room for 2 nights on the hotel site, and since the site didn't allow me to complete the procedure, I wrote a mail asking for infos about the availability of rooms. 24 hrs later I still hadn't received any feedback, so I sent a kind reminder. 48 hrs later, and still NO ANSWER whatsoever, I...

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighbourhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
