Very charming hotel very close to the center of Paris - on a budget! We spent 3 nights at the hotel Tolbiac. After reading the reviews, I was coming here for the good price offfer relative to the location, and I was not deceived. Let's be honest, you get what you pay for but I was pleased with waht I...

No lift and no staff to help with luggage. Room is small and so old. Somehow it gives a 'not-so-clean' feeling. Location is the only positive thing to talk about this hotel. Right in the "East meets West" /Asian-French area of Paris. Many restaurants to choose. Metro Tolbiac is only a few minutes walking. Stay here if you are a...

Dear Madam, Thanks a lot for taking the time to give us your feedback. It is always very important for us as it gives us the opportunity to improve ourselves. I wanted to take a few minute to respond to you regarding your inputs: As mentioned in our website, there isn’t any elevator…indeed, not all Parisian buildings allow this possibility....

Hotel Tolbiac is a small four floor hotel which has more affinity to being a hostel than being a hotel. The rooms are small, furniture is old, and cleanliness cannot be considered very high. Nevertheless, if you are short on budget, and want to have a place to sleep only after long days of walk on Paris streets then I...

My daughter and I had a very comfortable stay on our 5th floor large double room with ensuite bath. This is an older hotel with no lift, but the room was clean with a large window in both the bed and bath rooms. The room was a bit noisy at night due to traffic noise if the window is open,...

I stayed at Hotel Tolbiac for one night in November 2010. I chose this hotel, because it is located rather close to the place that I was visiting. It may be a bit far away from the most popular touristic attractions of Paris, though, but then again, all of Paris is within easy reach by metro. There are lots of...

Not the cleanest I've been in, the blankets felt very dirty though the sheets were clean. The towel situation wasn't great (one small hand-sized towel per person), but the staff were very obliging when asked for a 2nd one. The shower situation is by far the biggest letdown - there are two on the first floor and one on the...

Hotel was pretty much what we paid for. Rooms very standard, nothing flash, but okay. Thought had booked double room but got a twin. I wouldn't say they were clean, but wouldn't say they were dirty and ultimately it was a pretty good price for Paris. Main issue was the noise!! Could hear pretty much everything and had a room...

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighbourhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
