Built to mimic the splendor of the location, this classic hotel of the earlier 20th Century helps one to understand the magnificence of the medieval fortress. Built to the inner walls, you leave your car in the lots outside the outer walls and are mini-minivaned to the inner entrance. The rooms are compact, but complete and are all elevator accessable....

Worth the expense! We spent a magical night here with our 12 year old daughter. We had initially hesitated because of the cost but it was a magical night of pure luxury for the three of us. I would definitely recommend the fairytale like experience of staying within the walls of such a beautiful Medieval city!

We had lunch in the garden of the Hotel de la Cite. The venue was most attractive and the service by some attractive young women was friendly and efficient. The food, however, was very poor, my Caesar salad was tasteless and the lettuce far from fresh and this was followed by an equally uninspiring pudding. My wife similarly disappointed. Two...

Located in an old episcopal palace next to the Basilica St Nazaire and on the ramparts of La Cite itself. The hotel is picturesque and the views from the viewing platform in the gardens were breathtaking - of the chateau about 150 metres away and across the newer city below. The service was excellent from the man who came and...

This is a fabulous hotel with all the charm of old within the ramparts of Carcassonne and right next to all the attractions. Very friendly staff, and pleasant service, and parking is available outside the walls, and reasonably convenient access to the hotel. Room was excellent and breakfast on offer is quite extensive. Would definitely return.

Not in the same league as 5-star brands in other cities, but very nice and well appointed. The outdoor garden is one of the most charming I've seen. Getting there isn't easy: take a taxi to a lower parking lot. Taxi will call the hotel to send a tiny van to pick you up. So if you want to go...

We stayed here very recently. The room was one of the best designed of any hotel rooms, thoughtful purpose built cupboards to take suitcases etc. Getting there was fun, but Carcassonne is very touristy! We had the menu in the evening, and i refused to eat the chicken course as it was raw inside. My husband did, unfortunately and has...

This hotel probably doesn't need any more great reviews judging by what most guests have already said! I just wanted to share our experience though as this hotel is up there with some of the best we've been to. I'm quite a francophile anyway and love the culture and language and staying in this hotel allowed me the opportunity to...

It was quite hard to imagine, A Hotel inside the historic fortified walls of an old French town in the south of France? I was worried this Hotel may have forgone it's old French 'charm' or historic attributes for a more mainstream approach (which so many seem to do) as I really didn't know anyone that had been here or...

We stayed for 3 nights at this property. It is in an excellent location inside the Citadel, but the services and food quality was not a 5 star experience. The breakfast was average and the service lacked a high end professional 5 star experience. Although the most expensive hotel in the area, the location was great, we didn't feel that...
