First visit to Carcassonne flying direct from Glasgow. I visit inspired by playing the board game Carcassonne for five years. Beautiful renovated old house. Lovely garden which we were encouraged to use. Quite charming. Very warm and hospitable host agree with last reviewer helpful but descrete. Old world elegance with furniture and ornaments, and lovely china. House in perfect location... More

We were made to feel really welcome when we arrived at this fantastic B&B. I booked a family room with 2 bedrooms which was very impressive. The car was safe in their locked car park which meant I didn't have to worry about the box on the top. It was a 5 min walk to the old Cite and 5... More

This was our first trip to Carcassonne and we were just staying the one night. The house is exquisit, and in a fantastic location close to the Medieval City. M.Bernard was a wonderful host, extremely welcoming and a true gentleman. He gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and was the perfect mix of helpful and discrete. Truly can't understand... More

This was our first visit to Carcassone and the location is ideal for both the medieval Cité de Carcassonne and the town. We rather liked M Mazet who speaks very little English and our French is old school 'O' level from the 1960's. He was very helpful about places to eat at a variety of price ranges and the town... Having spent 2 hours digging ourselves out from our flooded road in the Var before the drive to Carcassonne, we were tired and initially rather unimpressed by the location opposite the prison and having to wait for an hour until we were allowed to check in at 5.00 p.m. We had telephoned to explain our delay. However the house is... More

Overpriced. Miserable proprietor, told us off for leaving a window open. Breakfast mean and poor. Although very well positioned and beautiful building, was made to feel unwelcome and would not stay again, nor could recommend

Many reviewers of this establisment have lambasted the proprietor, M Mazet, as being a Basil Fawlty style pedant. Yes, this is true. We experienced an over zealous exchange of emails to ensure we arrived at the right time, we were amazed by a 20 digit wi-fi password, and we were subjected to minibar games on departure. On the flip side,... More

This B & B is situated close to the City and the Historical Castle. The owner Bernard was very friendly and went out of his way to accommodate our check in requirements which were earlier than expected. The room was classically French, with an amazing bath and decorated to a high standard. Bernard provided us with a map , tourist... More

Because of the good reviews I booked this at the last moment. Had booked des remparts de logis months ago but just before arrival they advised they had 1 room with fold up bed for 2 couples, not the 2 rooms we'd booked. Didn't like Demeure at all. The owner wasn't very well groomed and seemed more interested in getting... More

As with all the reviews we agree this is a very French clean and well decorated B&B well situated to explore Carcassonne without a car. The front of the property overlooks a main road and a Prison, however the back of the hotel and garden are delightful. We stayed for three nights and our room had great views of the... More
