From the moment we arrived we were mesmerised by the magical and opulent period interiors of Baudon de Mauny. Our room, the style of which took us back to 1840, was generously spacious with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. The guest areas were equally fascinating with the welcoming and comfortable lounge as grand as the bedroom and the...

This hotel is a hidden jewel in the centre of old Montpellier with a wonderful ambience. Built as a private home in 1877 it is an oasis that takes you back in time, yet all the rooms have been updated with the latest fixtures and decor. It doesn't have a restaurant per se, but offers breakfast each morning and a...

We stayed in this magnificent place on the night of the summer solstice when the whole of Montpelier rocks with music. On a hot noisy night our room, aptly named "Niege", was a cool and tranquil refuge behind it's shutters and cleverly screened windows. Thibault was full of helpful knowledge and a true gentleman. We can't wait to return for...

My daughter and I were in Montpellier for a few days to find accommodation for her upcoming study at the university and really we couldn't have done it without the help of the amazing staff at Baudon de Mauny. She's now know where to get the phone, bank account and tram tickets. It's such a fantastic hotel. Stunningly beautifully designed...

Our home away from home! We visit Montpellier every year for business and we won't stay any where else. This is a gorgeous building from 1777 located in the pedestrian only district. It is magical from the moment you enter the large wooden doors into the cobblestone entrance. The building is old with tons of character but all of the...

Just fantastic! Huge doors opening off a cobblestone narrow side street, across a partially covered courtyard, up a stone staircase ( no elevator) and you are then welcomed by the owner in a room that looks as though it has barely moved on from the eighteenth century (much of the building dates to 1777). The ceilings, mirrors, windows and furnishings...

My adult daughter and I spent 4 nights at baudon de mauny in the historic centre of Montpellier. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Its historic atmosphere beginning as one enters the courtyard, so easy to imagine a horse and carriage arriving, up the very wide but gently sweeping decorative iron railed staircase (again easy to imagine breeches clad M.Baudon de Mauny...

An old mansion updated into a luxury hotel but retaining the historic charm of 17th-18th century stone floors, grand staircases, huge rooms/suites, soaring ceilings and windows you can fit a mini cooper through. Staff is engaging, helpful, considerate. During a 16 day trip to four cities, I stayed in all four star hotels, and Baudon de Mauny outshone them all....

We recently spent two nights in this hotel. We had a warm welcome and the person who greeted us provided practical information about the hotel, the surrounding restaurants and even some interesting museums to visit. Our room was very large, with a large bedroom, a large living room area and a spacious and well-appointed bathroom. We can't comment on the...

This hotel only has 8 rooms, yet it is a large old building with immense character. The ceilings are about 15 feet high, which only historic old buildings have. The location is perfect - right in the center of the old town. Good restaurants are nearby, as well as lots of shops. I would go there again the next time...
