If you have never stayed in a real French Chateau, try this one. The 1878 building absolutely oozes style and craftsmanship, with much of the interior restored to a high standard. If you like old buildings, you will love this place. The gardens include some real prehistoric ruins with some 19th C amendments, and the entire site is a Monument...

We stayed here several years ago under previous owner, and were charmed by the authenticity of the old manor and its grounds, a grand place that sort of stopped in time and still echoes the life of bygone days of grandeur. The room Agathe on the ground floor is huge, with private sitting areas onto the park as well as...

We stayed here for two nights and had a fabulous time. This is a truely unique place to stay. The history and ambience of the chateau is worth experiencing. The glamour of the epoch is all around and remains intact throughout. The garden has an interesting grotto & fabulous orangerie. Saumur is very easy to access just 5 minutes in...

A single night with the family - adjoining room suite. Fantastic rustic chateau built in the mid 19th century in the gothic style. Incredible conservatory. All typically rundown in the way many buildings are but this just lends to the charm. The boys loved exploring the grounds the décor and furnishings were as interesting as the chateau itself. The hotel...

What an experience! A superb little chateau, mid 19th century, not all that old (actually our house in Adelaide is older!) but absolutely bursting with charm and style. Bruno, our host, was the most obliging person. We arrived way before check-in, and our friendly taxi driver managed to contact Bruno, who arrived within 5 minutes to let us in. The...

A single night here in a room on the ground floor. The room was huge with a bathroom bigger than most rooms in many hotels and a reading room too. Ornate ceiling and roses with chandeliers nearly everywhere. Traditional breakfast with doors opening out to the very old (in need of repair) conservatory. If you are fascinated by old traditional...

We were extremely pleased at the Chateau we stayed in & the excellent service by the Manager, Bruno. He welcomed us with a bottle of Champagne & even helped us with our heavy bags. It is located in small town with nice restaurants, which Bruno was happy to recommend & make bookings for us.

Travelling home last Wednesday, we had a little bit of trouble finding this place, mainly because we were not expecting it to be in the middle of a residential area and the outside appearance was rather unusual too, but having said that, our one night stay was absolutely fabulous. We could not stop smiling from the time we arrived until...

We stayed for 2 nights on our way to the Dordogne. The chateau is lovely and we were welcomed warmly by our host. Beautiful room, very spacious and clean. Breakfast was very satisfactory with fresh croissants and pains aux chocolat as well as yoghurt and fruit. Our only disappointment, and this is not Bruno's fault, was that there were no...

Bruno - thank you for the opportunity to stay at Chateau Bouvet Ladubay. We got the impression that you're running your B&B business to help fund the full restoration of this beautiful place and if so, we are very happy to be a part of this and we wish you much success. We were very impressed with the rooms, the...
