I arranged a romantic weekend for my partner and I and popped the question atop Saint Nicholas Tower. The town of La Rochelle is fantastic and a perfect romantic getaway. Vue Sur Cour was stunning and the hosts were lovely accommodating people. Our French attempts raised a smile but they helped out with their much better English. The bedroom (called...

We were here just one night but loved everything about it. The proprietor said it was a guesthouse & NOT a hotel. It was a bit difficult to find because it has just a small plague outside & street is mostly pedestrian but well worth it. We had a lovely breakfast as well. The only negative thing was 2 loud...

Well, where to start? We picked this charming B&B because of its central location, and access to private parking (essential in pedestrianized La Rochelle. A glance on Google street view will not impress, but don't let that fool you: behind that discrete entrance lies a little piece of heaven: beautifully furnished rooms, a hostess for whom nothing was too much...

Looking for a one night stay in La Rochelle and booked on-line before we departed the UK. We were staying with friends in the Vienne and having a night away, so decided to stay in Suite Anne. What a surprise. Behind the dull front door, you enter a short passage leading to a small romantic courtyard with white walls and...

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst travelling around France and Italy, It is charming and well located for the Old Port......but parking is a problem and the B & B is located adjacent to a couple of clubs, kebab shops and an Irish pub. Despite being on a higher floor and with shutters and windows closed it was extremely...

We were very pleased to say in this top notch chambre d'hôte. It is centrally located yet shielded from outside noise interference. Ours was one of four or five individually and tastefully designed and very comfortable rooms. We felt welcome right from the original telephone booking and we were delighted with the ultimate in relaxing French breakfasts in the shady...

This charming B&B is situated in the heart of La Rochelle close to the old port and the restaurant area. The room was OK, clean with nice bathroom, breakfast is 'French' ...... hosts are very friendly. We had our bikes which allows to cross the city easily and the region as well. Biking on Ile de Ré is great.

What a lovely place to stay when visiting La Rochelle. Marika and her husband gave us a warm welcome to their beautiful home. This B&B is within 1 minute walk from the picturesque harbour and bars, lots to see and do, La Rochelle is a very lively place. Would highly recommend a trip to Ile de Re, a beautiful island...

If you're located in the bar district, you should have soundproof windows! Not only can you hear all the people partying in the bars below - all night - you can hear everyone else in the hotel...every floorboard creak, every toilet flush and in my case, the owner's friends downstairs at a dinner party that lasted until late in the...

“Front-facing rooms can get noisy unless you close the windows, and then it gets warm. But hey, its in a lively quarter, no problem really.”

“Room Aglae was on the ground floor, ideal if you can't manage many stairs but had shutters onto the main road so no natural light through the windows. Room Camille was at the top of the B&B, very tastefully decorated. Room Marie was the biggest room we had, looked out on to the main street, great if you want to watch street processions/carnivals. All Beautiful rooms.”

“Opt for a room/suite in the back of the B&B to avoid any road noise. The Marie Suite was excellent.”
