The Hôtel Cloître Saint-Louis offers an exceptional setting for your stay in a Historical Monument from the 16th century! You will enjoy a great location within the city walls of Avignon at only a five minute walk to the steps of the Pope’s Palace and a ten minute drive to the TGV train station. Situated slightly off the main boulevard, the Cloister provides a haven of peace and calm, all while being in the heart of the city (with private parking). During the warmer seasons, you can enjoy our pool on the roof of the hotel, which looks out onto a spectacular view of the chapel’s dome and across the city rooftops.

RUN AWAY! This supposedly "4-star" hotel clearly does not deserve that rating (not even close)! My partner and I booked a night at this hotel for our last night in Avignon, and what a disappointment it turned out to be! In this hotel, you will pay a minimum of €180 per night for: A long wait at the reception upon arrival (staffing issue perhaps?), expect a good half hour A very strong smell that assaults you as soon as you enter the room A room under the roof with a malfunctioning air conditioning system (see photos) A refrigerator with mold inside (see photos) Non-blackout blinds (see photos), so if you enjoy waking up at 6 AM with the sun, it's perfect! A continuous dripping sound from the walls (one might think there are faucets left open inside!) Little to no Wi-Fi There was apparently no possibility of changing our room, but as compensation, we were given a fan that was completely unsuitable for this type of room. It made so much noise that we couldn't even use it (see photos). At most, we managed to sleep for 2 hours in this hotel! Between the heat in the non-air-conditioned room under the roof, the light coming in through the Velux window that we had to leave open for some freshness, the mosquitoes, and the water sounds coming from the walls, it was the worst night in a hotel we have ever experienced in our entire lives. At such a price, this is unacceptable! It was our last night of vacation, and I returned to work even more tired than before my time off! It's a shame for a hotel that claims to be 4 stars. I want to emphasize that Mrs. Garcia Linda, the manager of this hotel, was particularly unpleasant when we expressed our dissatisfaction. She showed no empathy (arriving late) and even made a quasi-accusation regarding the malfunctioning air conditioning ("It's strange, it was working fine yesterday!"). In addition, she openly laughed in our faces (and I mean it, she found it quite amusing) when we told her that we wouldn't hesitate to leave factual comments about our night at this hotel. She "kindly" indicated that she would only offer a 20% reduction on the cost of the night and suggested that we could try complaining to her superiors (without providing any other email addresses than her own!). In conclusion, if you're desperately seeking fatigue and your wallet feels too heavy on a daily basis, you can have the worst night of your life for the modest sum of €180 (don't forget to ask for a refund, with a 20% discount, it's almost a giveaway!).

The hotel is inside a former convent. A massive building with a large courtyard and a big parking area. Reception is friendly and efficient. A somewhat shaky elevator brings you up to your room. The room is spacious, with a desk, a separate seat, a fridge and water cooker. The bathroom has a bath and there is a separate toilet. It is very quiet. The internet is very slow and often has dips too. On the third floor, outside on the roof, there is a not very large swimming pool, the use of which depends on the weather.

Rooms with good size, but, needs to improve the facilities, the breakfast. Very dark bathroom. Good location, beautiful building , very good staff. We had to wake up very early to eat what we wanted, when the food ran out, it was not replenished. There were not many varieties of food either, there were days when there was no fruit.

Lovely hotel in an old monastery, where our room was really special - domed and slanted ceilings, an extra sitting room in a round tower, two bathtubs and a shower. Next time we are in the area we will definitely stay here again!

The room was comfortable and spacious. The staff were friendly and always available. It was very convenient for Avignon centre and the railway station. Just a few minutes walk. The only inconvenience was there was no wardrobe so we were living out of suitcases for 10 days. The breakfast was overpriced. Not terrible but not great either. Finally, its just a really beautiful atmospheric hotel to stay in.

Beautiful Building and lovely rooms. Relaxed ambience but not dead. Close to the center, but far enough form the noise. Can't say anything about the breakfast, but probably better than searching for it around the block.

Wonderful building and decor. Friendly staff. Room was lovely, though shame the basin plug didn't quite keep water in. Very convenient location for exploring Avignon and for collection point for Aviator bus trips.
