Delightful small hotel and fabulous friendly hosts, Stephane and Emmanuelle made this a perfect place to stay in Avignon. The room was quiet, beds were extremely comfortable and a great location. Delicious breakfast each morning with most things homemade by Emmanuelle. Great suggestions for dinner and Stephane was extremely helpful with everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Avignon.

The owners are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They also give a great welcome and good tips on places to eat and see. A lovely room, nicely decorated, with a great view over one of the atmospheric streets of Avignon. Opening the shutters in the morning felt like being in a French film. The room was quiet and the bed was so super-comfortable! Breakfast is home made, with delicious little cakes, jams and yoghurts amongst the fare on offer. It was like staying with French family friends, certainly not a “faceless chain” experience. Many thanks - I hope to return one day.

This hotel has more of a bed and breakfast feel being managed by a lovely husband and wife team. Don’t let the entrance foul you, the rooms are decorated beautifully and nicely sized. There are blackout shutters and it is on a pedestrian only alley so you can sleep in total peace. Located in the heart of the wall city this is just the perfect place to stay in Avignon at a great value. Highly recommend.

Not much words needed: Hotel Garlande is simply the best in Avignon. Friendly and helpful staff, clean, stylish, close to everything but no noise from the streets. The perfect place to explore Avignon and it’s surroundings. Highly recommended!

Absolutely customer-unfriendly. Our booked TGV to Avignon was cancelled by SNCF 2 days before our scheduled arrival (due to strikes and protests across France) . The hotel was immediately informed of this and we requested to move our booking to a later date. This was categorically refused by the hotel as the cancellation deadline of 3 days before arrival had passed (despite written proof of cancellation by TGV). Hotel was absolutely unreasonable, just a short and blunt "no" to our request to move to a new date. So we lost our payment. No 2nd try at this hotel for us, we will look for another accommodation in Avignon.

Bonjour, You sent us an email on the day of your scheduled arrival at the hotel at 8:30 p.m. informing us that you could not come. As the reception is closed at 8:00 p.m., we were not able to read your message until the next morning around 7:30 a.m. On our side, not seeing you arriving at the hotel, we prepared, as indicated in the message we sent you the day before your arrival, your room, as well as an envelope to your attention with the key of your room inside. It was only the next day that we were able to see that your envelope was still at the reception. In your message, you specified that you were informed of the impossibility of coming to Avignon the day before the date of arrival. It is surprising that you did not contact neither SMARTBOX nor us sooner to try to modify your reservation. We are not able to change reservations made through a reseller. The customer must first contact the reseller to make the desired changes, if the booking conditions allow it. We are sincerely sorry that we did not have the pleasure of welcoming you for reasons totally out of our control.

We had the pleasure to stay at the Garlande for two nights. The hotel is perfectly located very close to the Place de l‘Horloge, with the major attractions within easy walking distance. The owners were beyond friendly, very helpful. We traveled with bikes and were able to store them in the locked garage. The breakfast is homemade and has many amazing treats. We very much liked the stylish rooms. It is certainly an older building, sound isolation within the building is not always 100%, however there was no noise from the outside of the hotel at all. We would definitely choose the Garlande again for our next stay in Avignon.

I made an error booking the reservation through Expedia, instead of May 27th, I put in June 27th. Immediately after I contacted Expedia and requested that they change it. They contacted the the owner, Stefan, who denied the request. I contacted Stefan who said he never denied the request and that I should contact Expedia again. I contacted Expedia again, they once again reached out to Stefan, who denied the request. I called him and spoke to him on the phone. He said he wouldn't change the date because the reservation is not subject to change. If I had a change of plans, I would understand refusing my request, but this was not the case. I literally requested the change immediately after booking the reservation. Needless to say, I would not recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel in the old town of Avignon. Stephane and Emmanuel are excellent hosts and provide great recommendations for things to do locally. Rooms are decent size, we upgraded to a larger room. Great location. Walkable to many of the attractions, Palais des Papes, gardens, Pont d'Avignon. Easy to walk to some great restaurants after a long day of travelling.

What a charming and friendly hotel in the heart of Avignon! Our room was spacious, airy, and comfortable, but the highlight was Stephane and Emmanuelle. They were so helpful with restaurant, laundromat, and sightseeing recommendations. Also, since we were staying almost a week, Stephane gave us a pro tip to go back to the parking garage and exchange our daily ticket for a weekly pass which was much more economical. We loved our stay here and highly recommend when in Avignon.
