C’etait parfait! We were meeting up with extended family and used this hotel as a base for a few days. Hotel is well run and cared for, the breakfast is most delicious when eaten outside in the sunny garden under the lemon trees.
Setting is most convenient for the train (French trains are reliable, clean and not expensive), close to restaurants (would recommend Little Italy for lovely Italian food and Le P'tit Resto for lovely French food) and shops.
Most people speak very good English but I was thankful for their patience as I tried to speak as much French as I could remember from school!

We loved this hotel. We received a warm welcome after a long hike in and were given the opportunity to choose between two available rooms, which was very appreciated. We chose a first floor, very spacious room backing up to the school and loved listening to the children playing on the playground. Modern bathroom, friendly staff, very nice breakfast with trays intended to take outside to courtyard. Citrus marmalade delicious. Loved sitting outside amongst the lemon trees and hibiscus. Our son had his own room with a little balcony that was charming. Sweet little hotel, would stay again.

Cost and everything you would expect from a small French hotel. Really good and simple breakfast. Please don’t miss the lemon marmalade it is fantastic.

Close proximity to train station, beach, restaurants and bike rental. Made a really good starting point for biking in the back county and Monaco

Fabulous underrated eco-friendly boutique hotel. Conveniently located, ultra clean uncluttered rooms, adorable staff. Lovely garden to chill out after a day visiting the surroundings. Bathroom size is indeed small, but highly manageable as very well organized. One review mentions noise but I slept like a baby. Beds are particularly comfy, Breakfast is French and of good value. To recommend highly, either as a base to visit the region (much less expensive than Nice, more laid-back, 3mn from train station) or for a week vacation relaxing in Menton.

I liked this hotel very much indeed. Especially how spotlessly clean it was throughout. Bedroom was fine with everything I wanted and comfortable. The hosts were most friendly and obliging. The breakfast was nice and good value. It is convenient for the railway station, town centre and not far to walk to the seaside. Also car parking outside in the street was easy, without restriction and meters. All in all a very good find and will definitely use again when visiting Menton, Monaco and further afield. A comparable low cost hotel like this is hard to find, especially in such a popular part of France. They deserve every success. Michael G, Essex, England.

Fantastic budget hotel. If you're not looking for frills, but want a simple, clean, friendly hotel with a lovely breakfast, this is it! The owners are environmentally conscious, the rooms are spotless and it's easy walking distance from downtown. The train is literally 2 minutes from the hotel. The site photos are also very accurate. Some guests have complained about noise from a playground below. It's very minimal and for us added to the feel of the neighborhood which is very french and charming. If you're looking for luxe this isn't it, but if great on a budget is your goal, look no further!

Stayed here for 8 nights on the 14th September after reading tripadvisor reviews, and found to our delight that most of what we had read was absolutely true! This Hotel is a gem for the €59 euro a night rate that we paid in September 2012. Breakfast is also great value and is freshly baked on the premises. Helena and Thomas are fabulous hosts, extremely helpful, very welcoming and take great pride in their baby "Hotel Lemon". The double room we stayed in was larger than most others we'd previously experienced in France. The room was spotlessly clean, fresh bedding and towels throughout our stay. The Hotel is within walking distance to the train station, approx 3mins which for us was a big bonus, as we used the rail network for most of our trips along the Riviera, including Monaco, Nice and San Remo in Italy (AMAZING PANORAMIC VIEWS)!! The fares are unbelievably cheap, from Nice to Menton for instance (30/40 minute trip) single €4.80 approx £3.87. The beach front and the centre of Menton are approx 5 and 15mins walk respectively. This has undoubtedly been one of our best holidays in the month of September. Great weather, fantastic scenery and so much more to do apart from the usual eating and drinking, which goes without saying in France is awesome anyway!! Needless to say we can't wait to go back, hopefully either this xmas or next spring.

Go there you'll love it!!

The Hotel Lemon lived up to its rating. We chose the hotel due to its reviews and we were very pleased with the experience. You can be critical of some aspects but for the price per night, the staff, the breakfasts and the location it cant be faulted. Other guests mention the noise. We stayed five nights and whilst it was noticeable it was not a big issue. It can be very warm at night as there is no air con. If you have the windows open then noise from the road and railway can be noticeable. On the plus side its two minutes form the station which is really handy. For good value, for lovely rooms and for the welcome we rate this hotel highly.
Be aware when trying to find the hotel that oin the Street and on road signs its still called the Hotel Beauregard.

Menton is located along the French Riviera near numerous resort towns. Its main advantage is that it is considerably less expensive than nearby towns, yet it provides easy access to not only the beach, but numerous picturesque hill towns and villages.

Hotel Lemon is conveniently located just a few blocks to the beach and about a kilometer or so from the old town. The stroll along the waterfront to the old town is very nice. The hotel itself is quite basic, with no frills or extra amenities. What you get is a basic room that is quite small. The bathroom is diminutive, with a shower that is extremely tight. Drop the soap and you have to exit the stall to pick it up. My wife and I have stayed at small inns and B&Bs throughout Europe, so we are OK with small rooms. This shower, however, is one of the smallest we have ever experienced.

The biggest drawback regarding the room we had is that it is noisy. There is no air conditioning, so I requested a fan, which the clerk was happy to provide. Still, it was very warm, forcing us to open the window. The hotel is located on a fairly busy street, so traffic and pedestrian noise was quite pronounced. Even ear-plugs didn't block out all of the noise. Closing the window helped some, but the room became quite stuffy.

Breakfast was usual French fare: bread and jellies. The weather was nice our first morning, so we were able to enjoy it in the hotel's nice courtyard.

Hotel Lemon is suitable for a short stay in this region. It is basic, albeit a bit cramped, but it does provide the necessities. If you plan on spending some time relaxing in a hotel, however, you should probably pay a bit more and seek accommodations that offer a bit more.

Our family of four really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lemon. From the beginning of sending emails for a reservation, the owners were quick to reply and very friendly and helpful. On arrival we found our rooms to be super clean and nicely decorated and the beds very comfortable. The building is old but lovingly maintained and full of character. The bathrooms are great too. And the owners went above and beyond the call of duty when my son got locked out of the hotel late and night and had to wake the owners at 2 am. They were not at all angry or upset. Amazing. The could not have been nicer people. We would happily stay here again. And the rates are great. Do not hesitate -- a lovely hotel and a lovely town.
