Cost and everything you would expect from a small French hotel. Really good and simple breakfast. Please don’t miss the lemon marmalade it is fantastic. Close proximity to train station, beach, restaurants and bike rental. Made a really good starting point for biking in the back county and Monaco
It's ok. The only problem I faced was that my room is at the second floor, I had an heavy luggage and there is no elevator. I didn't have my breakfast at them, so I cannot leave any comment about this issue.
Spontaneous stay at this charming hotel. Perfectly located close to the center and the sea. The owners are so forthcoming and gave us the greatest restaurant tip there is (“les enfantes terribles”- moules frites!). The rooms are clean and totally well equipped for the one/two night stay. Price is unbeatable. french breakfast with fresh croissants, very good cheese and some fresh fruits! A1 for that! Highly recommended!!
This friendly and efficiently run hotel offers excellent value for money; it is set in a beautiful and quiet location and is close to very good train and bus links. The hotel offers very appetising breakfasts.
Just spent four nights in this hotel whilst enjoying the delights of Menton. Only five minutes from train station. And five minutes to the beach.Fifteen minutes walk to the centre of the old town . Nice laidback atmosphere in hotel. Clean and as we expected. Little juliett balcony in our room. Eleanor who was’ front of house ‘ was very charming and helpful- answered all questions we asked with excellent English ( having spent time living in England). Would recommend this hotel to all ... but don’t expect everything you get in more expensive hotels... this is not a problem as long as you know. We will go back if in Menton again. Thankyou for helping make our stay so nice.
Very close to the train station and to the beach. Clean, modern and surprisingly big room for a hotel in France. I liked that the room had 2 balconies and the garden was pretty. Excellent value for money. I would stay again here.
I really wanted this to be a good stay. Nice old type of hotel and the staff was really nice and helpful. However, we got dirty sheets, which they replaced after us telling them (good), but dirty sheets should never go into a visitors bed right? And we are sure that the stains were there before we came. Further more, there was no AC, so we had to sleep with open windows, perhaps that’s acceptable at this price range BUT, we got waken by motor bikes and cars that went past very loudly during the night. So we had two really bad nights sleeping. The staff was really nice so I really don’t want to put this place down, but sorry, it was quite bad.
Hotel Lemon is about a 5 minute walk from the Promenade du Soleil and about 20 minutes from Menton old town. I suspect the hotel is in the middle of being renovated, and amenities are pretty basic as it stands. That said, bed was reasonably comfy, and staff were friendly and helpful. Bathroom in our room wasn't up to standard - it had a constant smell of sewage, and the towels were basically the same as the bathmats! This didn't make for a particularly pleasant experience each morning when you opened the bathroom door and got a waft of sewer smell. If you're looking for a place to put down your head and not much else then this is probably fine for you, just don't expect luxury.
We stayed at the hotel 4 nights. The hotel has a nice garden, and the rooms were clean. The Hotel has a good location close to the beach and city center. However, that comes at the cost of a lot of noise from the cars and motor bike driving past the hotel. Earplugs are key if you want to get a good night of sleep. Also there is no Aircondition so the rooms get fairly hotel during summer
We have an apartment close by and have had many friend stay at the Hotel Lemon during the past 3 years. Always our friends praise the hotel for it informality, very reasonable price and location. This is not a 5 start hotel but neither is the price per night. This an excellent value for money hotel doing what is claims --and well. ( and we know several hotels in Menton since we bought our apartment here 19 years ago. It offers precisely what our friends want-- a good clean room only to sleep in with en-suite , TV and friendly staff at a good price . Noticeably, Hotel Lemon only slightly raises its prices during the Monaco GP week unlike other hotels in the region. -
