visited with my mum who spoke no French at all, and mine is slow and badly pronounced. The staff were patient, friendly, kind and caring. The rooms are basic but very clean. The view is amazing, the gardens are something to enjoy. The entertainment is enjoyable, even if you don't understand French. The entertainment staff include everyone irrelevant of age, language or ability. Food is good, cold buffet, hot main, and dessert every evening. Good quality and choice. We are hoping to return next year.

Smooth easy check in. We got parking discount. High- ceiling room, comfy bed - we sleep well. Fantastic location at the back of the hotel is the walking street and in the front is beach. Breakfast was okej nothing special.

We booked the accommodation from Expedia for a Double Room, and a particular request for a 1 double bed and paid a total of 267.33 Australian dollars but when we got there we were surprised to go to our room with a twin bed accommodation 👁👁. When we returned to the front desk, all the woman who speaks no English could say that she can't change it! OUR PURE HORROR! Beware all of you

we just stop there to get a suit and a coffee. We choose tarte au citron and a chocolaté cake > The famous suit arrived freezing with ice in the middle. The coffee was not hot . Definitly avoid this club Balambra.

Stayed in the Belambra in Menton for a week. Perfect location with front on sea side, and back entrance in shopping street. Room was quite large, very high ceiling giving sense of extra space. Room was clean, with replacement of sheets and towels daily. So infrastructure is more than ok. We had half board formula, with breakfast and diner every day. In general the restaurant was disappointing. Breakfast was basic and exactly the same every day, no variety... coffee from machine was really not good... For diner there was a main dish served at the table, with salad bar and desert buffet. Salad bar and desert were quite ok, but most meals prepared in kitchen were disappointing. If you go to this type of hotel you don't expect any haute cuisine, but still.... we found it below average. A pity. Personnel was very kind and friendly though, so i'd suggest to make an analysis of the the kitchen and the food preparations...

I had a room with a mountain view. The walls were not sound proof as I could hear my neighbour's television. Wifi has improved as you can get it for every 24 hrs period that you are there and in your room. I would have liked to have tea/coffee making facility in my room though. My stay included breakfast and dinner which was pleasant enough with wine on tap for those who want it and various salads , breads, on top of a first course and main meal, plus a selection of treats for dessert and I had Creme de Marron ( chestnut cream) loved it. If you did not eat what was on offer for dinner you could inform them and get a replacement. Breakfast was not a cooked one but again there were adequate coffee, tea, croissants, bread, preserves, granola, cheese, ham, butter, baguettes,Apple compote( my fave) The ladies serving were so pleasant and friendly, also very attentive too.Hotel was so convenient for walking and taking the bus. The front of the hotel is located on the Promenade du Soleil with divine views of the Med. I enjoyed my stay here and this trip to Menton was super. I would recommend this hotel as it is ideally situated on the Rue St Michel and great base for a solo traveller to venture into Monaco and Nice.

Stayed here for a week in late August/early September - hotel was busy but didn't feel too crowded. Facilities in the hotel are a bit basic - no pool, tea/coffee making services and Wifi only works in the reception, requires you to log on every 30 minutes and if you move only a few feet from the reception, the connection becomes very patchy. Quite noisy outside (the back end) but the noise can be blocked out if you shut the windows. Hotel was clean and rooms were great. Staff were very pleasant and the meals were mostly edible, save for a few odd combinations and being offered rabbit one night (we ate out then). Walking tours from the hotel are available but all the activities with the resident entertainer are entirely in French.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Belambra Le Vendome. The location right on the front of the promenade is very good and you are near all the bars, cafes and ice cream parlours in the pedestrian street to the rear of the hotel. The hotel is exceptionally clean and well maintained throughout. The room maids were very cheery and attentive. The rooms are fairly basic however with no tea and coffee facility but it is more of a budget type hotel with no pool or gym but we knew that before we booked. We requested an upgraded room with balcony and sea view which is what we got but have to say its one of the worst balconies I have ever seen in a hotel. The room was on the 4th floor with a wall approximately 4 and a half feet tall so you had to stand to look out onto the sea over this wall. On either side blocking you off from the adjacent rooms was what can only be described as a 6 foot high wooden lattice fence similar to one you have in a garden. The floor is covered in loose wooden slats. There was a table and two chairs but that was it, its utterly featureless, drab and disappointing. On arrival we were greeted by a very nice receptionist who spoke some English and she was helpful which is more than can be said for the Manager. We had a problem with our safe and he came to the room on the first day to re-set the lock and immediately started explaining the problem in French. We said we couldn't understand but he very abrubptly said "No English" and proceeded to continue talking in French then left although he did re-set the lock. We noticed throughout our whole stay he made no attempt to commumicate with us or make eye contact - he was a terrible advert for this hotel. There was some sort of trip or activity arranged for most days and nights and some of it was very good but we had to find this out ourselves and chose not to take part in the activities which were all free. This should have been explained to us on arrival. This all stems from the language problem. We found generally English was quite weak in the area. We know the French hate speaking our language but we made an effort to speak French using a phrasebook but when you have a problem it is encumbant on the hotel to get you the help you need despite the language problem. You can only book half board so dinner is included. To be fair its fairly good but its take it or leave it or pay a high supplement for something different. We have to say it was a bit "Butlinish" epitomised by the Club Entertainer who would barge into breakfast every morning yelling and singing in Fench and explaining what the day/night activity was.To be fair he was quite entertaining and a superb guitarist. For the managers attitude alone we would not return to the Belambra.

The hotel is in the Vieux Menton, the old, historical part of the city. It is renovated and well kept. Our room was large, with sea view , with a wonderful view at any time of the day. It can be a bit noisy but worth the view. The back of the hotel has a no traffic area with numerous stores with local items, terraces and ice cream shops. One of the best is Frissons de Plaisir. The half pension offers a good menu, a reasonable alternative to eating out. The nearby restaurants offer dishes at 20 euros a plate, but all in all it gets to 60 euros or more with wine, coffee and desert for two. They have an entertainer who takes tourists for outings to old castles and other places of interest, free. It is the first type of arrangement of this kind, but very beneficial. We saw places that we would not have seen otherwise. They have entertainment almost every night, but more suitable for older audience. The beach is just across the street. The mediteraneean sea was wonderful in June. A wonderful vacation, thinking of going back.
