The hotel backs on to the road opposite the beach so the views from those rooms is wonderful. The hotel was clean and in a good location that is why I gave it top marks. There was a lovely girl behind the bar during the day. But didn’t really have any interaction with other members of staff. The breakfast was ok but if you have to pay extra there are plenty of places to grab it out and about.

We were so looking forward to our week at this hotel. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, I knew I had made a mistake. The street entrance is shabby, as is the reception area. The photos of public spaces on their website are not indicative of the current state of this property. It wasn't helped by the fact that we were given a room without a terrace, despite having booked a half a year in advance. Our room had a constant hum, I'm guessing from a nearby generator. The clientele in general were seniors (we're seniors too, I might add,) who apparently return year after year. A woman swooned in the lobby. An elderly couple struggled with luggage and were offered no assistance. A defibrillator is prominently displayed near the very slow elevator. The breakfast was so unappealing that, despite having paid for it, I ate elsewhere. I decided not to let this sad, neglected hotel dampen my spirits, and had a great time I Menton. I even found a wonderful hotel for our next visit.

The hotel appears stylish and great. The location is very good right on the beach and right into the shopping street. We had a comfort room with a terrace. The room is Okey, I mean - a hotel room is a hotel room. The terrace was nice and comfortable. However, we find the breakfast to be a big disappointment. Number 1: There is a relatively limited selection of products, no cucumber, no tomato, only two cheeses and two hams. Number 2: We enjoyed breakfast outdoors. Extremely unsatisfying that the hotel allows birds, pigeons and seagulls to stroll around the tables and enjoy themselves. Yes, guests must bring their food in, but it would have been a particularly good idea to have at least one employee out at any time to take care of cleaning and washing. Then the birds would eventually disappear. The tables were not washed from day to day and the same bird droppings was there for several days on the tables. Very disappointing. Given the price of the hotel, the comfort, localisation and the relatively poor breakfast - we rate it at a medium. The breakfast experience takes it from a very well to a medium rating.

Broken window with no access to balcony, no help from staff, no interest in accommodating appropriate room, very poor service and shoddy maintenance. Avoid. After a long difficult journey from London a laminated sign denying access to balcony is unacceptable

We are returning guests at this hotel in Menton. We like the hotel due to its location by the sea and close to the old town. The garden at the front is also very nice to sit and relax in. On this occasion I found the receptionist who dealt with us to be very cold and devoid of emotion despite me smiling as much as I could at her and being as nice as I possibly could in an attempt to get even one smile from her. The breakfast is surprisingly basic and disappointing for a hotel of this standard and lacking in some items that would have been nice for breakfast such as some cake which is served quite often in hotels like this around France. The ingredients and food available for breakfast seem budget ones, which lets this hotel down a lot. Breakfast could be very easily improved by adding a few extra things and for little cost, but I got the impression that management want to keep it stripped back and as budget as possible, which is such a shame. Despite the cold welcome and a breakfast which is inferior to many hotels of this standard, I would return to the hotel because of its location. However, I’m holding back my 5 stars each time I visit until the receptionists become warm in their welcome and management make simple and cheap changes to improve breakfast.

When it opened I imagine this was a grand affair. Sadly nowadays to remain in business, a large hotel such as this, has to operate on a tight budget or offer something really special. The facilities are somewhat dated. Bedroom spacious, comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet layout poor in these Covid times. While we were there the restaurant and bar closed down at very short notice until Christmas. An hotel in a good position on the seafront which has the potential to up its game and justify its Royal title.

Very old and tired common areas. Poor breakfast buffet. Hotel needs a major update inside and outside. Only rooms are nice because renovated. Only 1 elevator. Hotel is not very clean, especially common areas.

This hotel has an absolutely excellent location. It is a 3 star hotel but the best of what I’ve seen here in Menton. The ocean side views are beautiful. Outside are great shops and restaurants very close. The rooms are nice. I had room 311 which was giant with lots of room and a large bathroom. The breakfast were acceptable. Basically continental but better. Beautiful outdoor seating. My biggest complain was the staff, but of course, from the American perspective, this is France. They are rarely helpful. Only one person of the 7-8 was pleasant. English is spoken but not well. I needed to leave a day early and gave a 4 day notice, but they refused to refund the last day since I had already checked in. It was extremely frustrating. Overall, I would stay here again just understanding that the service is barely acceptable but normal for French standards. I really enjoyed the location. They were able to connect me with a reliable driver who would be on time and take us where we needed to go when he was available. We communicated with him directly by WhatsApp.

I did not know that such hotels still can survive..... To begin with: Car can not be parked anywhere nearby. FO staff was not really helpful. Wifi did not work, bed had bugs, we had both rashes everywhere on our bodies next morning. And it was dirty, very dirty. It looks that during the COVID closures, this hotel did not make any deep cleaning at all. Windows, door hinges, chairs etc with a thick layer of black dirt. The best was the breakfast: Staff asked us to wear gloves to pick up food on the buffet but themselves, they did not wear any! A hotel to forget with zero amenities in the room. Thin overused towels, not even a notepad, pen, laundry bag etc. We asked online for slippers and a water kettle, it was confirmed, yes no problem. When arriving, FO agent told us that due to COVID they can not provide, ask at the bar, but Bar was closed, so no boiled water. The ultimate was that at 11 PM they locked the gate to the promenade road by padlock. We walked around the hotel to the city facing entrance (Main entrance). Door locked! Ringing? No reply. We waited 5 Minutes, rang again and then finally the night auditor came out and told us not to make so much noise as he couldn't hear it since he was at the toilet room.... Think about if an ambulance would have to ring first and wait until attending an emergency. The only positive thing is: I will never forget this "Hotel" For 180 Euro, this was such a bad experience that it will stay in my memory forever. I felt like the good old times in Eastern Germany before 1989. No service, no staff, no amenities. Be grateful that you get a bed and support the party. Exact same feeling.

I found an attractive deal on this hotel, and wanting to spend some time by the sea, I jumped on it as a last-minute get-away. I could not be more pleased that I did! The staff was friendly AND professional, the rooms were lovely and clean, the beds extremely comfortable and the views from the south side of the hotel are breathtaking. The Mediterranean is only a few meters from the hotel entrance. The city of Menton is charming. Frankly, I can't wait to go back.
