Detailed Reviews
We have just spent two fabulous nights at the Hotel Palm Garavan. The Hotel is opposite the sea and in a very picturesque location. The rooms were modern and clean and the owners were so helpful. It is ideally placed for restaurants and bars and is about a 15/20 minute to the train station which we used to take the 35 mins journey to Nice for the day.
Parking is available for a small fee but it is worth it to know the car is safe underground. Breakfast is an optional extra but as we didn’t have breakfast I can’t comment but I don’t doubt it would have been delicious.
I thoroughly recommend the Hotel to anyone visiting Menton and also it is only about a 10 mins drive from the Hotel to Italy so we took advantage of being so close and took a little trip over for a couple of hours.
We hope to return again one day for sure.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel, where the owners were very helpful in suggesting where we could park close by at no expense (right up the road...so close) and their favorite restaurant, 3 minutes walk away, that was great. And Old Town is a quick 5 minute walk away and so nice to roam around.
The room was certainly nice with all that we needed and a nice view of the water. There was not as much road noise from traffic as I expected so that was a nice surprise.
I would recommend staying here!

Stayed for four nights in September. Spotlessly clean hotel, comfortable bed and extremely helpful, friendly owners. Superb position for beach and Old Town. Beautiful sea view from small balcony. Hope to be back.

I really wanted to love this hotel based on the reviews but we were left a little disappointed.
The Good:
We picked the hotel because we had a car and there was a parking option for the hotel. It was reasonable and safe which was great.
The room was clean and average sized compared to European hotels. We got a discount rate so we didn’t have a balcony and our room looked at the back of the next building. Not complaining, it’s just what you get for budget.
For breakfast there were 3 options which was nice as we tend to like something small and hate paying for food we won’t eat. We got coffee and a croissant for €3,50.
The location is less than a 10 minute walk from old town and right across from the beach which is great.
The not so good:
The Wi-Fi. We were dependent on Wi-Fi for our trip and it kept dropping the entire evening. It was so bad that we ended up having to pay for one of our cell phones for a day so we could use it as a hot spot.
The nightstands in room 505 were little glass shelves but one side of the bed didn’t have one so everything had to be set on the floor.
The bathroom door is a pocket door but it’s more for the illusion of privacy than anything. Even when closed you can still hear someone going to the bathroom and from the bathroom, you can still see out.
The ac didn’t really cool the room much. I think the lowest it would go was 24° but even then it still didn’t feel that cool.
I travel a lot and I am coming off a 3 week stint in Europe so I stayed in a lot of places this trip and this was my least favorite hotel. We tend to give smaller places a chance and while it was clean and cheap, I think going elsewhere would have worked better for us.

We stayed a week here in a room with a balcony and side view of the sea. The room was clean and basically furnished, with comfortable beds.
There is a lift and someone on duty in reception all night. You can have breakfast at various charges: we tried the simplest which was OK, but ended up just having some fruit in our room, which you can buy in the market in Menton or at the supermarket which is a few minutes from the hotel (turn left). There is no kettle so we brought our own and managed with long life milk. It's a pity that tea and coffee in the room is not available - it would make all the difference, plus a small fridge.
The owners and the young guys on duty in the evening were very friendly and helpful. They make you a cup of coffee when you come in after dinner, which you have in the little breakfast area. The hotel is on the main road but we weren't bothered by noise. It was useful to have the bus stop nearby. The public beach opposite is fine, no need to pay for the private ones. Menton is a very interesting, vibrant place - we'd recommend a visit.

Amazing position. Just out from the old town. Super clean and comfortable. But mostly the host are kind, helpful and friendly. If I will ever be back in Menton I will book here again. It was a very nice stay and the reception 24 hours is an additional good point

We’re just at the end of our second stay at this delightful family run hotel in our favourite place of Menton. It’s all about the friendly welcome, the immaculate rooms, the superb service and attention to detail, that makes this work so well. Although everything is organized beautifully, the mood is relaxing, just what we want for our holiday, we will be back and you should give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a 12 night stay at this small, family run hotel, which has an excellent location facing the beach at Garavan. Lots of good eating places within a 10 minute walk, and a local bus which runs to Monaco No 18 stops within 50 metres of the hotel. The family have lots of local knowledge and couldn't have been more helpful. The night staff were charming. Modern rooms with good sized comfy bed and minimalist styling.

We stayed at 8 hotels on a tour of gardens in the South of France. Unfortunately we had 6 nights here! The modern, clean room was small and had no wardrobe, just a hanging rail at bottom of bed. No drawers.Shower always had hot water but always overflowed onto the bathroom floor.
The one lift did not cope with a large group coming and going. The breakfast was bread and croissant and the same jam every morning, with no variety and nothing gluten free except a yogurt. Many in the group brought their own breakfast in with them each morning.
The owners were unfailingly cheerful and helpful but obviously running the place on a very tight budget. The price level was however not budget. Parking was secure but costly.

This nice hotel is run by the most friendly and service oriented couple. The hotel is very nice with a minimalistic style and bright colours. The hotel is well situated next to the beach and very close to the center of Menton.
