This hotel is located within walking distance from menton garavan train station. Consider staying here if you are arriving by train.
As part of the budget end of the accor plus group, members of the accor group get discounts upon booking. The price is reasonable for hotel rooms during the busy menton festival period. The hotel rooms are decorated in a simple , modern, no frills manner .
The rooms are kept clean by its housekeepers. The service desk staff is prompt & courteous.
Buffet breakfast with a supply of crispy crossiants is cheap at euro 7.50 per person.
The hotel assures the safety of its guests with CCTV installation on its premises. The gate is locked at night & guests can enter with a code no.
My only grumble was that on night of the night parade, there was no more buses or trains to menton garavan anymore. Taxis were not readily available that day. I had to walk 25mins from city centre back to the hotel .
Overall, I will recommend this hotel for providing clean, affordable rooms with good service.

First and foremost you cannot complain about the location. It was outstanding!!! the staff was very helpful and willing to assist in anyway they could. But the rooms are small and the amenities are sparse. Good breakfast is available. We will be back.

If you like Menton - and I adore it - I can thoroughly recommend the Etap Hotel opposite Menton Marina.
The rooms are among the cheapest in town and the ones facing the marina have balconies. I chose to have a mountain facing view to the back and it was blissfully quiet.
As this is a "no frills" hotel, you can book in at a machine outside the front door if there is no one in reception during the day.
Menton Garavan train station is a pleasant 5 minute walk away and frequent trains take you the short distance to the centre of town. There is no noise because French trains are quiet. There is also a bus stop nearby and the ride into town takes you right past the excellent covered market. A bathing beach is a short walk away.
I stayed there for nearly a week and found the room service first-class. It was very quiet, being out of the main town centre The hotel is well used by Italian families weekending in Menton as the border is just up the road.
There is a wonderful, family-owned restaurant in the marina opposite the hotel, which has all the atmosphere and good food you would expect in an established Italian restaurant.
If you want to eat in, there is a big supermarket in the marina and also a small supermarket up the road.
There are two superb sub-tropical gardens to visit within walking distance; Val Rahmeh is the Mediterranean branch of the Natural History Museum in Paris and Villa Maria Serena faces the sea in the other direction.

The receptionist was kinda bad because he wasn’t so enthusiastic about his guests wishes and fined for each hotel nights instead of the whole period visit that was originally in the contract in the booking process in Accors website. This made it much more expensive and we the guests got more confused by this (a miscommunication between the hotel itself and Accors organization?) .
When we checked out earlier than our stay period, he and the cleaners were accusing us for checking out too late, but that wasn’t even the case because he was mistaken by our choice.
Also the cleaners ignored tidying and fixing the third upper bed in the room when we wanted our room clean.
The breakfast was too sweet and much less options than other Ibis budget hotels.
So nah, bad system, bad communication, but good location.

Upon check in, the one and only lift of the hotel stop working. The next day at 7 am , no staffs show up to work and breakfasts room are closed with lines of guests waiting outside. Air conditioner faulty, no shampoo in room, repeated request to the man in front desk was ignored. Today they informed me that they booked my room twice and charged twice to my card….I just had to say”Oh my God!”

Room facing the see and terirble noise isolation. Impossible to sleep from 5.30 in the morning due to car and motorcycle noise. I strongly suggest you forget this hotel and look for another hotel since they can' t even put good windows... Besides the person at the dek told me "you chose the room !!!" Actually I took a room available not asking for a special sea view but believenig that it would be possible to sleep correctly !

This is a hotel for an overnight of just for knowing the area. Is not a hotel for enjoy the hotel, just a super very clean room, secure, in a very nice area with very nice view.
I did not use the parking, because in front a lot of space, and my 4x4 overland is big and high and the parking is very small. Like a budget hotel, you need to pay for everything but is normal. The staff was so friendly, and they accept pets and for us is important.

Complete Disaster! Do not book We arrived around 3 pm. We had to check in at an counter outside. Then we did not get any receipt and the code we had to take a photo to enter. Upon arrival in the room booked for three persons, we had only a small bed/ 140x200 arranged for 3 persons. Bathroom only two towels. In a bag was a cushion and a duvet, but no mattress cover. The room was dirty, hairs and dirt was easy visible, mattress with big dirt spots, hairs on the arranged bed. As nobody at reception we called twice the chargeable hotline with nobody replying! We left the hotel and had to book somewhere else! I have cancelled the room then and send three emails to reception of the hotel/ no reply since almost one week! The money has been of course deducted! Never again! I can only recommend not to book there!

No idea how not everyone is pointing this out, but we had two different rooms and they were both actually filthy. Mould in the corners, so much mess under the bed, stained sheets, dirty windows. DISGUSTING taps and showers, stains all over the walls. It's deeply unsanitary. I met the manager, which is hard as staff are non existent and showed him my dirty bedding and he basically shrugged and said that's how it is here. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Booking and paying the Hotel was easy on web site. Very difficult to find a e-mail address to change booking. Didn't got any answer or confirmation to my change of arrival date. They did accept my money and I paid for nothing!!! (haven't got my money back) So be sure that you are going to arrival the date which is on your reservation. (customer service is a joke)
