We stayed for the grand prix so the price was more than normal. Not worth that money by any stretch. Location was great right on the sea front, definitely worth paying for a sea view which was amazing. About 20mins to the train station and 30 to the port. On some days the bathroom smelt of drains but nothing shutting...

We stayed at Le Royal for 3 nights in may, 2012. We were part of a big group. Rooms are OK, location is perfect, bar is nice, but the breakfast was terrible. It was almost no food at all. When breakfast startet it was ham, cheese, jam, some fruit and cereal some bread and cakes. After one hour it was...

Location is ideal. We loved our room with view of the Promenade and the sea. Easy walk to Old Town. One block to catch bus to airport. Helpful desk. Would stay ther again if ever in Nice again.

The perfect place to stay in Nice if you want a view of the Promenade while standing on worn and stained carpet, the aroma of fresh crap in the lobby and a whiff of something dying in the hallways all in one royal package. Oh and the ambiance in the lobby creates the warm feeling that the 1 minute you...

PROS: Amazing location, gorgeous views IF you get a sea view room, excellent service, super breakfast, nice sized bathrooms, elevators CONS: There is a horrible smell (dirty diapers) every time you walk into the lobby, bedspread was soiled with ink/make-up, poor water pressure in shower, non-sea view rooms overlook each other and a dumpster, thin walls/floors (noisy) I think that...

Le Royal is the place to stay if you're in Nice. Ask for the renovated rooms (sea facing) and your stay will be absolutely memorable. The service is great and the staff is english speaking and extremely friendly. We had a sea facing room. It is centrally located and within less than 200 metres are casino's, restaurants, bars, bistro's, laundromats...

I booked this hotel via Vacancesbleues.com and did half board . Buffet French breakfast ( ie nothing hot except coffee and tea . Set 4 course dinner , but if you didn't like something you were always given an alternative , with no hassle at all . I speak fluent French which helps as the waiters' English is limited ,...

Even if the splendour has faded, we had a lovely stay at Le Royal. We chose a sea view room, and it was just great, sitting there in front of the big window after all the walking, listening to the sounds of the city and looking at the beautiful sea. The staff was friendly, even if our french was poor....

The hotel is close to the sea on the famous beach road of Nice, Promenade des Anglais. The rooms have old furnitures and no godd facilities. You listen everything around from the other rooms. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was very poor. Very close to the hotel are many places to have cheap and good breakfast.
