Amazing view, great service. Team is so helpful. They guided us to the best restaurants. We missed the breakfast but still they did their best to enjoy our breakfast time. We will be back for sure and strongly recommend that you should try this wonderful hotel.
Luckily the view and the weather was wonderful… One night was more than enough in the Le Levant room. The furniture was very dated. The room was right next to the kitchen, so all the noises and smells were like we were in the kitchen with them but worst of all was the cleanliness of the tiny shower room with no door.
We had a memorable experience at this hotel years ago. Everything - except for the many steps up and down carrying the luggage - was perfect. So much so that we didn’t care about the narrow stairs. This time, we learned that the ownership has changed. The room was pleasant and the view stunning as last time but the service was somehow lacking. Luckily we could speak some French and communicate without much difficulty with the receptionist with very limited English. He was polite and helped us with the luggage upon check in. However, on our check out day we dealt with the luggage, carrying it up two steep/narrow flights of stairs on our own. Our biggest complaint is that despite their amenity listing of restaurant and bar/lounge, both are pretty much non-existent. We had a menu in the room with a variety of food offerings that don’t work in practice. The only meal we can have other than breakfast is a choice of 200 euros, nothing else. Then why do they advertise their restaurant (Hotels. com: 'This restaurant specializes in seafood and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and light fare') if basically there is no operational restaurant? Why is there a menu in the room that we cannot use? Why do they have a room service number if that type of service is almost nonexistent (except for drinks)? We stayed in multiple hotels during this trip and for the first time we were charged continental breakfast fees plus each cup of coffee that we had, and also an additional for the fruit. We don’t mind paying but we wish things were clear from the beginning.…
This place is run by a couple which makes it their pride to service you very well. They also made us an amazing lunch. The menu was fixed but who cares when is that delicious. The place itself is like a time capsule from some time ago but that does only add to the charme of the place. Also a fantastic view of the bay This is just something you just have to try. Where to start! Hospitality and charm! THE LOCATION - perched above a beautiful Mediterranean seascape, viewed from my private terrace and from the dining terrace. GETTING THERE - bus stop 'Les 4 Chemins' is almost outside the door - use Zest bus 100 (Nice to Menton, 1.5€ per trip) or Lignes D'azure bus 110 (from just outside the Nice airport terminal, 22€). Or the train - a 5 minute walk. If using the train, be aware you'll need to carry your luggage uphill with narrow or non existant footpaths. There's a shortcut via a network of staircases. HELPFUL STAFF - the three ladies, Patricia, Marine and Muriel were always totally helpful and ensured m.y stay was amazing. No question was to hard - they even helped with bus and train timetables and suggestions for sightseeing. THE AREA - wow! Beautiful azure Mediterranean beaches (two), one with its own little cafè right there on the beach. Beautiful walks around Cap Martin and up to the amazing old town (Vieux Village). Hidden amongst the hobbit-like stone nooks and crannies of the old town were some lovely restaurants and cafes. And the view at the top near the chateau were to die for! Well worth the steep climb. Good place to base yourself for visiting Menton, Monaco and Ventimiglia (across the border - nb on Fridays is market day and the trains are packed). THE FOOD - I only had breakfast there, but wow - what a breakfast! I've never been keen on continental breakfast but this one broke the mould. A basket of lovely fresh fruit including cherries, gooseberries, strawberries, apricots, banana and avocado. A basket of fresh warm bread with a croissant and brioche bun. Lovely coffee with warm milk, and a little jug of iced water - all very 'French'. And all in the terrace with the sparkling Mediterranean sea right there! They provide lunch and dinner too. Hôtel Le Roquebrune is definitely a great place to stay!…
This hotel next to a busy road is basic and only has 6 rooms. Although the rooms provide the necessary amenities, they are small and old fashioned. The views from the rooms on the Méditerranée, on the other hand, are splendid. Breakfast is not OK, mixed fruit on the menu = in real, a basket of different sorts of fruits, not prepared and some of them were even overripe. The bread was a little toasted and old and we only got different sorts of jam, not even cheese or some ham / salami. We forgot a pair of sandals in our room when we left. When asking several times to send them to our house at our costs, the only answer was that they didn't find them....
This lovely little hotel has an old world charm that's hard to find. We booked direct with them which meant an 8% discount. They also upgraded us for 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. The finest point about this hotel is the balconies. They are so beautiful (particularly l'Horizon room) that you just want to spend your mornings and evenings there. They have a splendid sea view and are covered in foliage. The two ladies that run this hotel, Marine and Patricia, are very lovely as well as the front of house Jerome and the Receptionist. Each of the sisters also has a Michelin star! The only slight snag was the absence of a little fridge in the room, but this was quickly remedied by allowing us to use their fridge. Cold drinks in August are a necessity! I highly recommend this lovely little hotel for a memorable and personal experience! …
The staff was very friendly and helpful and made the place feel more like a Bed & Breakfast than a hotel. Our room was downstairs with no elevator, but when we opened the door, it was bigger than we had expected, and we had our own patio overlooking the water, which made for some lovely breakfasts before starting our day. We had opted to stay outside and travel to Monaco each day, instead of stay in Monaco, and we were glad we did. The bus picked up just outside the hotel, and it was a short ride. Each evening, we came back to this lovely place, enjoyed our patio with a cup of tea, before retiring for the night. It was a gem!
If you want to stay outside Monaco but still be close, this hotel is well situated. It’s a short bus ride on bus #100, which stops directly outside the hotel. You can take the train, but you’ll have to manage a 1/2 mike uphill walk and hundreds of steps. Take the bus instead. The staff was charming and helped us find the bus stop going back into town (across the street and past the roundabout) The view from our private terrace was peaceful and splendid. The views from the hotel restaurant couldn’t be any more spectacular.
My husband and I were driving back to Ventimiglia and took a wrong turn. We stumbled upon this hotel/restaurant to stop for a drink and Patricia invited us in to sit and have a glass of wine in a charming and quaint hotel dining area with overlook of the view of Roquebrune. The setting was magnificent and the hosting made us feel like we were at home with family. A magnificent happenstance! We will be back.
