We visited Gordes and stayed at this breath taking and wonderful hotel for our anniversary. It was the perfect choice for a special occasion. The hotel, views, staff and rooms so typify the area. The hotel sits up on top of the mountain overlooking the valleys. Definitely get a room with the view. We spent three days just sitting around...

From the moment we entered this castle on the side of the city cliff we were met with service that is 5-star rated. The room, the view, the spa, the pool, the Michelin rated restaurant and most importantly the people - all 5+-star. Hands down one of best experiences. We felt like royalty. Don't miss this boutique hotel or the...

We took a Valley view room for 3 nights. The location is breathtaking and the surrounding area is stunning and great for excursions. The staff are exceptional. Attentive without being intrusive. In short, they have found a way to strike the balance between high-end luxury without any stuffiness or pretence. It makes for a great guest experience. For example, the...

We stayed here for 4 nights. Opening the large shutter windows and watching the view was so calming. so beautiful it didn't seem real. Make sure you visit the local monastery and go to a service to hear the monks chant.

This lovely hotel restaurant was so welcoming in the heat and amongst the hordes of tourists in Gordes in late June. We dined on the shaded terrasse, and it must have been several degrees cooler there than in the village itself. We had a beautiful view of the countryside from our table, and our meal was delicious. Great service, too....

My wife and I had a terrific three night stay in early October which is at the tail end of the season. Gordes and the surrounding area are quiet at this time of yearbut that makes a trip at this time even more plesant. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and the concierges go out of their way...

Romantic, Scenic, Beautiful! This hotel is one of the best you will ever stay at. The staff is very pleasant and so very attentive. Please make time to explore the town and the amazing views you can never get enough of. If you get a chance to meet one of the locals nearby, it is incredible to see their homes...

My fiancé and I have stayed at several Leading hotels of the world and this is unequivocally the worst. We were placed in room 113 for 2 nights. As soon as we entered the room it was noticeably hotter than the other parts of the hotel. Furthermore in the evening before going to bed we could hear raised voices from...

I can't speak to the gorgeous-ness of this magnificent hotel. My goodness. Built atop 12 century ruins, the area was rebuilt in the last couple of years into one of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed in. The restaurant was exceptional: breakfast, dinner and room service. The rooms have state of the art technology with classic paintings and...

we LOVED our stay at La Bastide. The hotel staff is very helpful and very nice. They walk you to your room and show how everything works, very attentive. The rooms are big, huge bathrooms and BEAUTIFUL views of Gordes. Really nice at sunset. They have little welcome tokens that are also really thoughtful. The outdoor pool is beautiful. We...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set atop a rocky outcrop at the heart of the Luberon in Provence, the village of Gordes, one of the "Most beautiful Villages in France" offers exceptional views over the Luberon mountain range. And at the center of that village, La Bastide de Gordes offers all the splendor of a former stately home. Carved into the very rock face of the hill, and built on 12th-century ramparts, the chateau is integrated into fortifications of the village. Combining charm, elegance, comfort and luxury, the hotel features intimate, welcoming and restful interiors. The fine art of receiving guests is evident throughout the rooms and suites, three of which boast private terraces. Handsomely appointed in a refined yet relaxed style, with appealingly rustic touches, they provide unparalleled and memorable views over the fabled Luberon Valley and mountains. The spacious rooms and suites feature private bathrooms with a bathtub, and sometimes also have a separate shower. A flat-screen TV with satellite channels is provided. Provencal cuisine made with local and seasonal products and regional wines are featured in the restaurants:'l'Orangerie" for lunch on week days and brunch on weekends and "La Citadelle" for diner each day. Meals can be enjoyed in the vaulted dining room or on the shaded terrace with its view of the valley. A further restaurant, Peir I Pierre Gagnaire TT, features French gastronomic meals prepared by multi-stared chef Pierre Gagnaire and his team. The 800m SISLEY Paris Spa offers massages, a hot tub, a steem room, massaging jets, an indoor chromatic bath a fitness room and a solarium. The 3 outdoor pools are surrounded by a sun deck and offer unrestricted views of the valley. The hotel was fully renovated at the beginning of 2015 and offers free WiFi throughout. ... more   less
