What ever was up to the staff was perfect and great, friendly and welcoming and they keep the place clean, but it was evident that the owners love the earnings but cant face the expenditure , on the website says free breakfast but expecting a donations, basic dinner for €5 and perhaps cost 1_2 per person, even not bothered to... On our floor, the main floor, there are 15 beds and 1 toilet. Say no more right? Also, our room was missing a blinder so there was light all night from the adjacent building's offices. the one toilet wasn't kept clean and the bedding was very poor quality. I had to ask for a second set as the first had... More

This hostel not only is in a perfect position placed in a quite street next to the busy square facing the sea but the staff is magically helpful, smily and friendly. The price is incredibly cheap and it also includes breakfast! I arrived without any booking and the staff did everything they could to find me a bed in the... More

Came to stay here, really friendly staff and really helpful! Bed was nice and comfy, the room was a bit too hot! And there's only one toilet in the whole hostel, this is a down side but not a deal breaker! Mostly clean, nice atmosphere and really nice stay!

This is a great place if you want to meet and socialize with new people! Friendly staff, familiar atmosphere and great location. I went on my own and found lot of people to hang out with. Almost every night there is a 5 EUR community dinner, which is awesome.

Helpful and friendly staff. No air conditioning so I woke up covered in sweat which was unpleasant. No bar bur good kitchen facilities, free breakfast and community dinner. Nice common area and spacious rooms. One shared toilet and no lift. Very close to the centre.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hello Marseille Hostel is located in a safe area in the very center of Marseille, the "Vieux Port". Our HostelHello Marseille is a brand new concept in town. We opened May 13rd 2010 in fully renovated facilities within a charming typical 19th century Haussmanian building (marble floor, high ceiling with nice mouldings, large rooms). Note: Beware, we are a backpackers hostel ...On the third floor, no lift. So to our great regret, our hostel is unfortunately not convenient for - disabled persons or persons with limited physical abilities - minors under 18, even if travelling with elders. ... more   less
