The hotel is located in the upscale Prado district of Marseille in a quiet side street off the main street. The Perier metro station is just two minutes walk at the end of the street. From which you can reach all the main tourist sites in 10-20 minutes dependent on the location. Saint Charles Train Station is three stops away on metro line 2. Next to the Perier metro station is a bus stand from which you can take the number 19 bus to all the five Marseille beaches or the lovely Parc Borely (a sort of civilised Hyde Park-it has motor cycle guards to keep out the low-life!), if you want shade. A 24 hour transport ticket for all forms of transport (bus, metro and tram) cost just 5 Euros. The hotel is an older-style hotel (I am guessing 1970s), so I had a massive double room with all the usual Ibis facilities. My room was at the back and had a large window I could open that overlooked a nice wooded area and swimming pool for a neighbouring apartment complex. The room air-conditioning was totally ineffective. To the effect, it was difficult to ascertain whether it was on or off. This was fine for September, but I understand the weather was above 40 degrees (Is that 90 in American?) in July and August. Moreover, as typical of France, the hotel lacked staff, and my room was not "cleaned" until 3-4 pm, was is inconvenient if you want to return to your room for a rest. The cleaning amounted to making the bed and changing the towels. The same crumbs on the carpet from my first day remained for the three day stay and I had to clean the sink myself each day. I bought my room on line for a bargain rate, so this wasn't too much hassle. However, the daily rate displayed on the hotel front entrance was three times more than I paid booking on-line. So, it would be annoying if you had paid the full price

Though the room is a bit small, it’s functional and clean. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the metro M2 and the bus station, making it easy to get around using public transports. Friendly staff. Good value for money.

My company booked this hotel for me and I would never have booked it if I had a choice. My expectations were very low to start with but this hotel still managed to shock me. The hotel is old and run down. Everything looks drab and the rooms are tiny. No coffee/tea maker in room and even worse, no safe which was annoying. I do not like to take all my valuables with me so I had to lock everything in my suitcase and put the "do not disturb" sign out. The bathroom was decent however but only two bath towels which were so thin and flimsy. No amenities except an all-in-one bottle of shampoo/shower gel/hand soap/dish washing liquid/paint thinner which hung on the wall. Breakfast was ok although quite a small spread consisting of breads, croissants and cold cuts. I also had dinner at the hotel which I definitely do not recommend but I was just too tired to find something else close by. It is mentioned that the rooms are soundproof but this is definitely not the case. You could hear EVERYTHING in the hallway and the guy in the next room snored so loudly that he actually woke me up every night. The hotel has parking but you need to reserve a spot well in advance via email. The charge was EUR 14 per 24 hours. The reason I do not give a 1 star rating is due to the fact that the room was clean, WIFI was very fast, breakfast was decent and the hotel is close to the metro.

Nowhere near Velodrome - 30 min walk away. No facilities - inc no kettle in room. Very small room. Weird beds. Solid wooden block with thin mattress topper on top which kept slipping off. 2 members of staff constantly sat outside front door smoking. Nothing close by, no decent places to eat. Room reminiscent of 1970s Travelodge.

This Ibis is conveniently located at the Perier subway exit. Just a short walk to shops, restaurants & bars. We were a party of 11 people and the reception staff was truly helpful with our luggage when we arrived way too early for check in. Thanks to her, we were able to visit Marseille without our luggage before returning to the hotel for check in in the evening. Throughout our 2-day stay, the overall staff was welcoming and warm. Like any other standard Ibis rooms, rooms aren't large but simply adequate, nicely clean & presented. The heater worked just fine & hassle-free. It is conveniently locate to the stadium of Marseille, the Orange Velodrome.

The hotel is situated less than 10 mins walk from the Congress centre and very close to the Metro. Unfortunately that is the only benefit of the location. The hotel is exactly what you'd expect from an Ibis but if your budget allows I would stay at the Novotel close by.As a lone woman travelling on business I felt very unsafe and would not return to Marseille again by choice.

Visiting the ISU Grand Prix together with a young friend who has never been on a trip like this we choose the Ibis Centre Prado Velodrome, not far from the venue. In the weeks before arrival we had some change of travel plans but all my questions were answered by the hotel via email within 30 minutes! Checkin was quick, rooms clean, tidy and comfortable. We had not booked the indoor parking in advance (parking in Marseille is not easy) but a place was arranged in a few seconds! After visiting the event we returned late to the hotel but thanks to their 24/24 service we still could get something to eat and drink. After a good night sleep is was time for breakfast. For EUR 9,90 you can eat all you want and I think that is nowadays a fair price. Checkout went smooth, overal a very good impression of the hotel and the friendly staff! Seen different, keep this up!

This hotel is good quality for the price you pay. Located centraly, very close to a metro station what gives very easy connection access. Hotel itself had modern, clean rooms and very comfortable beds (something that I love about IBIS chain). Staff was welcoming and helpful, just the drawback would be that there very unpleasant smell in the lobby when we arrived and it stayed there for few days. Also in our corridor plaster started falling of the walls and a huge pile of it just lied on the floor for two days at least. I would recommend IBIS for short business stay
