The hotel is clean and comfortable certainly. It is an old building but has been renovated in the recent past and the rooms are modern in design. It's a personal feeling but I think the hotel lacks character and it has perhaps been over-designed. Too trendy! My main complaint is the breakfast. I really would not recommend anybody to bother...

I can strongly recommend the Edmond Rostand where I sayed for a few nights with friends. It is clean, comfortable and my room on 3rd floor at the front was not noisy. I could admire the washing on the rooftop of a typical French 4-storey building terrace opposite! The hotel is in an area of the city with many quality...

;ust spent the last 2 nights there. Great budget solution, rooms small but clean, lobby very stylish, comfy and inviting. Great location off a quite highend shopping street and close to dandy area. Very conveniently situated to move around. Breakfast does not offer massive selection but food and drinks are good quality. Would def recommend

We are currently taking a 6 month sabbatical and are cost conscious when reserving hotels however in this case the economy of the hotel did not translate into economy of service. Clean and bright within easy reach of the metro system and key attractions. The hotel offered all that we needed.

nice, well-appointed hotel in the downtown area of marseille. good location, though downtown is pretty dead at night, it's just a ten minute walk to vieux port and cours de julien, and close to the metro that can get you to the beach (pretty easily, if you study the bus connections). The rooms are very nice and a great price...

Pros: - Air conditioning! - Had a good night's sleep on the bed - Minibar was a godsend. Used it to keep my bottle of water cold, and also my home made dinner from Monoprix! - Tasteful decor (orange and chocolate) - Attentive reception staff - Free internet terminal in the lobby (however, you need to stand up to use...

I was planning on staying at Hotel Edmond Rostand and was on my way to Marseille when one of my connecting trains from Milan ran over a suicidal woman. Obviously, the train schedule was pushed back and I ended up missing my train to Marseille. There wasn't another train available that day and so, I had no other alternative but...

Dear Ramiller, I'm sorry to ear about your bad travel experience. Please understand that we are obliged to respect our cancellation policies because we have to pay commissions to online hotel reservations agencies. If you had booked your room on the hotel web site or directly by phone, fax or email. The receptionist would have been more derogatory indulgent. Please...

We just went there strictly for the night's sleep - we were visiting friends who couldn't accomodate us. Conclusion: we didn't sleep a wink. The bed is as hard as wood, and very small (we are both average height and not fat)! Our windows gave on a street, and the noises are very audible, despite good windows. No blankets were...

Thank you for your review and critique. Concerning the bed, I just can't believe it. Our beds are high quality standard and very recent. Concerning the others points, why didn't you call the desk. They would have help you and explain to you where is located the button destined to automatically close the window shutter protecting you from noise. They...

Small hotel, quite centrally located in a side street with some antique shops and upcsale fashion shops nearby - 5 minutes walk to nearest metro station, 10 min walk to old port. Friendly reception, good breakfast; clean, but rather small rooms and some minor technical deficiencies concerning the the bathroom (mix of old and new fittings). Extremely small elevator (not...

We paid £60 per night and this was good value. A 15 minute walk to the old Port and downtown Marseille and a nearby Metro connects you to the main station. Friendly service. The room was clean, a reasonable size and secure nice and simple decoration, bathroom could have done with a lick of paint but was really fine. The...
