The hotel is very well located. Not everyone at the reception speaks English (-.-') Every service has a cost: storage of suitcases, early check-in, late check-out. I understand the business, however sometimes a bit of flexibility would be appreciated as it happens in many other hotels. The room was clean and spacious, however it had a small window and it was a bit dark. Breakfast was good. The day of check-out we paid for a late check-out and somebody from the housekeeping team entered after knocking only once at the door and saying in French "it's time to go". Excuse me??? Communication is vital in hotels, however here it seems there is none. The lift was kind of faulty. Before closing the door it was kind of "jumping". Not very safe. Not recommended.

Dear Alle, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you appreciated our prime location and found the room clean and spacious. Our team strives to provide a comfortable stay for all our guests, and we apologize if not all of our staff members were able to communicate effectively in English. We continuously work on improving our language skills to better serve our international guests. We understand that some additional services come with a cost, and we try to maintain a balance between affordability and quality. Our hotel offers various amenities, such as luggage storage and flexible check-in/check-out options, to cater to our guests' needs. We apologize if you found the room a bit dark; we do have rooms with different views and window sizes, which can be requested upon availability. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the housekeeping team during your late check-out, and we will address this issue with our staff to ensure better communication in the future. Regarding the lift, we appreciate your feedback and will look into the matter to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. It would be a pleasure to welcome you again. Best regards, Stéphane Mojica, Manager

This - kind of - does what it says on the tin. A decent room in a great location with breakfast places if you turn both left and right (and a Lidl just up the hill). Also Le44 next door is a nice eatery. The bathroom is, in theory, well thought out, roomy with enough either side of the basin to put vanity bags. But, the shower heads (I presume) have been changed and don't fit into the holders so you have to be creative with how you have a shower. There is no plug in the sink. The beds (2 singles) have mattresses that are larger than the bedstead, so if you put too much weight on the edge of the mattress, you are liable to topple out of the bed. We had room 107 and in the corridor outside there was a leak from the ceiling for the duration of our 3 night stay, the water was captured in a bucket, which was regularly changed but we could monitor the increased frequency of the dripping. The stairs up to first floor smelled old, uncleaned and a couple of items of litter remained in situ for the duration of our stay. This hotel could be so much more and needs an overhaul.

We are currently sat in Marselle airport waiting to fly back to east mids, delayed flight so I thought I would pass the time. So to my review. This hotel is great, there are. No fancy bells and whistles, but it’s clean friendly and it’s a place to fall asleep after a busy day in the red hot sun. Me and my wife have just spent 3 days here and we had an amazing time, I’m 45 she 43 and a chance to escape our teenage boys. Anyone who stays here will not be disappointed, the location is so perfect once you get your bearings. The is a massive stretch of restaurants to the rear that we overlooked. 5mins from the metro that leads to everything. The breakfast although continental had loads to offer. We also took some sandwiches we made and pastries as a picknick which help through out the day. Don’t worry there are loads of places to eat, this hotel is great for cost and value. One thing I will warn you, is st Charles train station. It is like a hang out for migrants and homeless people. Do not go out here alone or stay in this area. Vieux port is the place to be. You can get to everything from here and everything leads to here. Bus, metro, tram. Or walk. Travel advice. Out the airport look right and over the road, there is a row of numbers where coaches stop and a ticket office. Get a ticket for bus 91 at stop 6. 10 euros each. This takes you to the train station. Get off the coach and into the hall, take a left and down to the metro, buy a travel pad 3day euro 10.20 covers all transport. Get on m1 blue and head to la fraug something lol. 2 stops and breath you have arrived and enjoy

The merit of this hotel is obviously its location near the old port. It is indeed ideal. As a low budge hotel, one can't expect luxury, but this hotel is lacking essentials - they claim that they exchange towels less frequently for "saving nature" (believe it if you like), but there is a single hanger where one could hang a towel to dry. For some reason - economy, prevention of blockage? - the toilet paper is not a roll like any other place I've ever visited but meted as single sheets. It doesn't work, however, because the flushing of the toilet is so poor that the result can be revolting at times. It took an actual blockage to convince the plumber there is indeed a problem. His unhappiness of having no choice but to attend to this task was loud and clear. The guest's presence made no difference to him. Last but not least, the walls do not provide sound isolation. If the next-door neighbors talk loudly, one hears them, whether one wants to or not.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing this feedback on your recent stay. While we are delighted to hear that you appreciated our prime location near the old port, we are sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations and would like to address your concerns. As in many hotels, we do only provide fresh towels when requested as part of our commitment to sustainability however, we do provide a hanging space with 5 coat hangers and 7 shelves in each room. Furthermore, we are sorry that the toilet paper was not to your taste, it is provided in sheets instead of rolls, but is still functional. We do apologize for any inconvenience caused by the plumbing issue during your stay and have reviewed this and your comment about the service delivered with our maintenance team. Our walls are designed to provide sound isolation, but we understand that some noises may still be heard; please don't hesitate to let our team know if you are being disturbed by other guests so that we may take action, with the required discretion. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an improved experience in the future. Best regards, Stéphane Mojica, Manager

This is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. Clean room with a comfortable bed. Staff friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was fine. Great central location very close to the old port. Some street noise at night even on the top floor but to be expected in the centre of a city. Would stay here again.

We owe it to ourselves to provide quality services to our guests. For hygiene reasons, we do not provide a toilet brush. Stayed here a couple of nights, choosing it for its central location really. Check in and out was simple. The hotel makes use of an historic building, so the layout is a bit odd, but there are lifts to the different floors. Our room was on the top floor at the rear of the building, with a skylight rather than a window, so no view. However, it was remarkably quiet for a city centre hotel. We didn't hear street noise or any other guests, though I imagine it is rather more lively in the holiday season. The rooms are small, but everything was recently installed and clean. There is no cupboard or wardrobe: clothes go on hangers, and there are a few narrow shelves to unpack your necessities. Wall mounted TV, no kettle, the only items of furniture were the bed (very comfy), a small occasional table and one hard chair. Bathroom/shower fine, everything perfectly clean. For a short, busy, stopover, this was fine for us, but one wouldn't want to stay longer, or linger in the room after getting up. Buffet breakfast available, and as it's centrally located, there are plenty of dining options nearby. We felt safe in the neighborhood and inside the hotel. Public transport (buses and metro) available from the Vieux Port 5 minutes walk away. At the time of writing, I would recommend buses, as the metro stations here and at the main railway station Saint Charles are undergoing renovations and are a bit awkward to access. Altogether an economical choice for a short stay for sightseeing or business.

We arrived near midnight and had a bad time at reception. One of us hadn't paid, another was doubly charged and not one of the three of us had our key card sorted so we all had to get back to reception to fix this. Fortunately the rooms were all lovely, other staff were great, especially Meahdi, who was SO patient. The lift - is antique. It only works if you close the inner door properly and many guests do not. So if you are on the 5th floor like we were... The bar is alcohol free... more a lounge but we were able to take our own wine in and glasses were happily provided. The breakfast is amazing! Lovely coffee, great people looking after you and lots of choice.

Have been making some research on the which hotel to book as we drive to Marseille. Decided to book with this hotel becouse it stated that they have private parking onsite and they have double bed w a bunk bed, which is suitable for our family of 3. Called the hotel half an hour before reaching to check on the parking, they say parking is not availabe. No choice, we parked at the nearby public carpark that cost $15.50. We reach the hotel at 1130am but Check in is only available at 1pm. We are asked to store our luggage at the payment storage. We choose a big storage that cost $8. Went back to check in at 3pm, to my surprised we was given a double room that is so small and they added a sofa bed, there was no walking space at all for 3 person. Its not what was shown on the website that i have booked. Went back to check with the reception, she said they are fully book and there is no double bed with a bunk. There is no way for 3 of us to stay in such a small room so we have no choice but to book another double room. If i know we will be given double room with a sofabed, no way i will book this hotel. I feel so cheated and disappointed. The only good about this hotel is the location near lots of eatery.

Dear Seah, Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. While we are pleased that you appreciated our convenient location, we regret not everything about your stay met your expectations. As you mentioned, our normal check-in time is 1:00 pm and although we do our best to have rooms available for our arriving guests this depends on availability. Early check-in is possible subject to availability for a small extra charge. We try to accommodate all our guests' preferences, however, this can depend on availability and are sorry that your choice of room was not available. The comfort and well-being of our guests are very important to us and we would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused. As mentioned on our website and all other booking platforms, we do have a private carpark although with limited space and regret that perhaps it was already full when you arrived. We hope to welcome you back on future occasions. Best regards, Stéphane Mojica, Manager
