A hotel across from the Opera in Marseille, two Metro stops from the central rail station and 100m from the waterfront of the old harbor. The room is minimal and very clean, air conditioned and draped adequately (for late risers). The hotel is located on the outer side of the block facing the harbor, so I guess all rooms have...

Having stayed here for the football must say the location is great. However this place is very basic and has the feel of a hostel. Clean and tidy though apart from the previous occupants towel still hanging off our radiator. Would I go back? No.

Stayed here for a Euro's England game and very pleased with the location. The staff were pleasant and rooms were basic but clean. Very close to the main Marseille st Charles station and the old port. The state velodrome is also within half hours walking distance.

As in most French two-star hotels, the rooms here are compact, but they're well maintained, and the bathroom looked recently renovated and almost spacious. Staff are courteous and helpful in several languages. The breakfast is fairly basic, but was included in the room rate I booked, so it served to get the day started. Wifi worked okay, though required repeated...

This small hotel is in a small street close to Vieux Port - and this makes a perfect location for doing Marseille. Check in was ok - staff didn't seem very interested in feeling you welcome. The room was nice and decent, but the lift for the rooms were extremely small - I have never seen anything like this. You...

I stayed in the Hotel Du Sud for three nights , the location could not have been better , very close to the Marina , and shops , restaurants etc. The room was extremely small , but more than adequate , with a good bathroom. The lift has to be the world's smallest , and you still have to negotiate...

When you arrive at Hotel du Sud, you immediately encounter what I think is the only real drawback - a long flight of steps up to reception. As we had heavy luggage, this was a small problem, but we managed. The elevator is very small - we had to send our cases up to our room one at a time,...

it's very well located especially when you are in Marseille, location matters. it's 1 street away from the vieux port. no danger in the neighbourhood but you don't have to be surprised if you hear loud drunk people or drug consuming in public. the room is not sound proof but safe. clean. but i was given room 27 which gives...

I travelled to marseille with 5000 other rugby supporters for a European semi final . I booked this hotel the day I arrived . It is very central , down next to the main port. Staff were friendly and room was clean but small . It suited me fine. You get what you pay for . Nice hotel. One small...

“If like me you are visiting in the summer, you need to ask for a room with aircon. I also asked for a quiet room away from the street, but the outlook from the rear windows is pretty dire. However, a peaceful night with the comfort of aircon was my main objective, and this is what I got.”
