A polite, helpful, service minded and very professional staff but sympathetic at the same time. The breakfast is served in the room and the place is clean and has a very good quality/price value. No wonder it has been recommended by Lonely Planet… I was there for the first time in 2004 and came back there just last week. I...

The room was laughably small, only one plug in bedroom, which is a problem if you need to run a fan, charge your computer and your cel phone. Bathroom was surprisingly nice, large and clean, but has handheld shower-head which means you have to sit in the bath to wash your hair. Main problem with hotel is lack of real...

Small hotel perfect location (Vieux-port) with small homely rooms but very clean. The rooms are in relation to the price. For a stay in this charming city, there is no way you want to spend your days or evenings at the hotel... The staff is pleasant, attentive and realy helpfull. professional and friendly

This was an excellent choice. It's in a great location in the Old Port, very close to a metro stop - so perfect for sightseeing and handy for getting to and from the train station. Rates were pretty good value for July. It isn't a fancy hotel - so don't expect doormen and grand foyers. And OK, so rooms are...

Basic good value hotel in brilliant location. Friendly helpful staff. Room small and spartan but clean with decent bathroom. Surprisingly quiet (our room was at the back). Only one block back from the front. Very decent budget option.

This hotel is a little bit out of the way but comfortable, clean, and has all the modern conveniences. The bed is comfortable. The room and the bathroom are quite spacious and kept very clean. There is a hotel, fridge, and microwave which is very convenient.

This 2-star hotel is located in the center of the city. I got a small but clean room on the 5th floor and choosed to use the elevator. It was a strange experience, the very small elevator felt like a flying coffin. Fast and reliable and with a wifi-connection. I choosed for a breakfast and got it delivered exact on...

We just returned after spending New year's eve 2006 in Marseille. There are some things that we believe tourists should know when making a reservation at this hotel: -there are some steep stairs to get to the reception (first floor from ground floor) and no elevator whatsoever; -the elevator to go upstairs from the first floor is so small that...

We spent 2 weeks in France and stayed in a few budget hotels. Hotel du Sud was definitely not the nicest. It is in a great location and has decent rates for Marseille - that is about all it had going for it. The staff was also very nice and accomodating. As for Marseille...it is not as clean or cosmopolitan...

“If like me you are visiting in the summer, you need to ask for a room with aircon. I also asked for a quiet room away from the street, but the outlook from the rear windows is pretty dire. However, a peaceful night with the comfort of aircon was my main objective, and this is what I got.”
