A friendly B&B close to St Charles' station in Marseille. Good accommodation. Caroline is a very friendly and helpful hostess. Good breakfast. Wi-fi works. No complaints at all. The house is a short walk away from the port area.

I really can not write any review about this hotel or B&B because i had to cancel my reservation based on the manager (or may be owner) recommendation!!! I booked 3 nights online and i received a confirmation email with a note to email the hotel if I have any question about my stay..I emailed them asking if they offer a shuttle service from and to the airport and if the booked room is in lower or a higher floor .. the manager/Owner answered me advising me to cancel my reservation and book a different hotel that can meet MY Standards !!! i am honestly not sure if my questions were inappropriate or it is just a language barrier issue (as we were communicating in English) and she could express what she wanted to say which made it sound arrogant..

Just a hop, skip and jump from the main railway station, making day trips in the region very convenient. A hostess par excellence. Spacious room, and very quiet considering the bustling location. Can easily walk to Old Port.

I spent several very pleasurable days at Casa Ortega in the middle of March, as France began its COVID-19 shutdown. The owner, Caroline, was such a joy to spend time with. She took very good care of me! The location is excellent -- just across the street from the train/bus station, and a reasonable, pleasurable stroll from the Vieux Port. I hope to go back someday and see Caroline -- and Marseille -- again.

If you are without a car, as we were, this is an ideal B&B. Just a few steps from the station and only 5-10 minutes walk from the Vieux Port. Great building, lovely rooms, shabby chic, and a hostess who goes that extra mile to help you in every way. Lovely breakfast with other guests, very convivial, and comfortable large bed. Parfait.

Wow! What a find... if you like something a little quirky - this is the place for you. The location is amazing: a few minutes walk to the port & just across the road from the station. Caroline is a superb hostess, from her advice & instructions on places to visit; bars to go to & how to travel around as well as delicious home made yoghurts & granola for breakfasts. Casa Ortega is very stylish as is Caroline, and has all the things you need for a great stay. Yes - there is no lift, but who cares! If you want a lift, there are plenty of other places to stay.

This is a cozy, yet stylish, b&b close to the main train station, tucked away so that you can actually get a good night’s sleep. We enjoyed homemade granola and yogurt (and good, strong coffee) each morning, as the owner of Casa Ortega, Caroline, helped me brush up on my French while offering her excellent input on where to go and what to do. She is wonderful with details, and she will go out of her way to make you feel at home—both in her b&b and in the city of Marseille. The locale is excellent: trains to Arles, Cassis, and Aix-en-Provence are less than five minutes away on foot. And the Vieux Port is an easy 10-minute walk. I really can’t add anything that hasn’t already been written about how wonderful Casa Ortega is, so this is just to say...Marseille beaucoup, Caroline!

We had an amazing five night stay and felt we got to know Marseille well. This was largely because of the very helpful recommendations from our excellent host Caroline who had great local knowledge of interesting and off the beaten track things to experience. Casa Ortega is a lovely boutique hotel, with individual decor, vintage pieces and lots of charm. It is in an excellent vibrant location: very close to the railway station, metro and bus connections and within walking distance of many major attractions.

We spent 3 nights at Casa Ortega. Couldn’t have asked for more. The location was great (2 mins from the station that serves Paris and the metro which allows you to explore all of Marseille). The friendly host, Caroline offered great tips to help make the most of our visit (les calanques was beautiful). A short walk/metro ride from everything we needed. And our room was incredibly quiet, clean and instagrammable (😃). Book it.
