The room was very comfortable with an outlook over the sea. The bed was huge and comfy. The bathroom is a good size with a good shower and a lighted make up mirror. Pleasant, stylish but fairly neutral decor. Chilled still or fizzy water is supplied in the fridge and there is a kettle and instant coffee/tea. The staff were helpful and speak English if your French is not up to it. Breakfast was good with lots of choice from bacon and eggs, to yoghurts, pastries, cereals, etc. I would recommend this hotel but I would offer one word of caution: on arrival (we paid in full in advance), they will ring fence €250 on your credit card as a deposit against damage to the room and will ask you to sign a form that states the room cleaner can tell them you should be charged for extra room cleaning if s/he finds it to be really dirty! I have never come across this anywhere else in any hotel in the world. It's the sort of thing you might expect in an Airbnb p
roperty catering to hen and stag parties!

I stayed one night prior to departing on a cruise from the port of Marseille. The room was clean and comfortable, but very basic. There were minimal toiletries provided and the front desk was not friendly or accommodating of my request for an outlet adapter when mine wouldn’t work.

Most notable was the 250 Euro deposit required upon check in which was not disclosed anywhere upon making my reservation. Although my room was already fully paid on arrival, the property required this deposit via credit card which took over a week to be returned. Considering the room rate, this could be problematic for some budget travelers or those not prepared.

There seems to be plenty of other options in the area; I won’t return.

We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is 200 m away from the tramway and 600 m from the metro station. The service is polite and quick and the room is large and comfortable. Breakfast was correct and enough with a food truck in addition outside of the hotel. Only deception was the closed fitness room. No one has informed us before our arrival and many other hotels in the same region already provided open spa and fitness rooms. Quite difficult to understand because no common procedure is followed.

This is a scam.
My spouse and I were charged 150€ for a slight cigarette odor in the room. Otherwise the rest of the room were perfectly clean.
Knowingly you CANNOT open the window which is sealed to the wall (Is this even legal..?) even one cigarette will lead you to be fined automatically 150€.

Not being able to open the window feels very oppressive and will make you be scammed for 150€ if you are unlucky enough to light a cigarette at night without going through the entire facility and ask the rude security guard to let you out -directly on the streets- which is not really a good and safe experience on this location at night.

I don't recommend at all this establishment, feeling oppressed in a submarine-like room and being charged of 150€ simply for a slight smell without the possibility to have access to any exterior except dangerous streets at night is overall a terrible experience.

One of the worst check-in experiences I have suffered for a long time. I arrived this evening after a very long journey from Dubai and was checked in by a clueless trainee and an utterly charmless reception staff member by the name of Malik.

When I enquired about a room with a decent view, Malik pretended to speak no English and spoke only to the trainee in French, ignoring me. No other rooms were available apparently.

I was allocated a terrible end of corridor room on the 2nd floor. No chairs present in the room. I called reception to ask for an ironing board and iron and was told (by Malik who now did speak English) to come and collect them from reception as there were only two people working in the hotel. I also mentioned the absence of a chair into the room, which surprised him. I asked whether I should also collect the chair from reception. He then offered to move me to another room, which was now available.

When I returned to reception to collect the new room key with my luggage, he suggested that I also carry up the ironing board and iron. Idiotic conduct from someone who should be nowhere near guests.

I asked for the hotel manager’s email address and was given an info@goldentulip email.

This is my 5th stay at this hotel over the last year as it’s conveniently located for my meetings, but probably my last.

The good points first..errrmmmm...none!
The negative part, plenty really, very few staff speak English, lobby is worn out and sad, room was totally bland, food was an excuse, room service pretended they couldn't hear us in the phone and were just hanging up on us.
When I called reception to check why the WiFi wasn't connecting, I was faced with a lady that told me she has too much work now and to call later..shocking..then another who didn't speak English, then a guy who said he will call me back and never did and then another lady who actually corrected the spelling of my name on their system and the wifi started working.
1.5 hours to solve this!!
Would not recommend at all.

It is with immense satisfaction and tremendous felicitation to all the managing staff at Goldentulip Euromed-Marseille.
I would wish to extend my very special heartfelt thanks to Ms Celine, Ms Taina, and Mr. Saintiago.
The tremendously competent lady: Ms. Celine. She is really a GTS: Géniale, Top, et Super.
Ms. Taina is an always helpful lady with a special welcoming smile that makes feel more than at home.
Mr. Saintiago is a man of solutions. He never tells you about the difficulties. For him, there is always a solution for the customers when a whatsoever problem happens.
Thanks to you three, and to all the staff working with you, Goldentulip Euromed-Marseille has become a place for everything and everything in place.
In a word: You are the best. 👍.
I wrote this review after more than ten stays in this exceptional hotel to say that buildings become alive with the working staff that are managing them.
I have tried three other nearby hotels, and it is a mistake to even think of comparing Goldentulip Euromed-Marseille to them. You cannot compare the incomparable!!

A modern new hotel located in the Docks. I would have give a 4 out of 5 cause the bed mattress was very comfortable and I was pleased. However, the bathroom was just fair for a 4 star hotel. There was no cotton pad, cotton swab or tooth brush.

On the top floor, at the spa reception, there was no one to assist you. You had to use the phone to order food & drinks. That was very inconvenient cause if you are on your own and your kid is in the pool you cant have an eye on your kid! Further to this the pool was small and some guests were taking pictures of you without your consent, so I could not relax.

Also, there was a game of bowls located in front of the sunbeds and I could not take a rest (too noisy). I don't know who designed this layout but it should have been placed in the other side of the terrace.

But the WORST was at the check out, the receptionist told me clearly that they will released the €250 deposit at the check out which they did not. It took them almost a month to release it and trust me as a World traveller I never experienced this. So, imagine if you were changing hotels every 3 days as you are visiting different places, my limit on my credit card will have been reached and I would not have been able to pay anything ( also other hotel deposit).

The Hotel staff were outstanding and couldn't have been more helpful. The reception is manned 24 hours and the reception staff were very cheerful and helpful. The bar was excellent and well stocked and it remained open late to accommodate late arrivals. The rooms are spacious tidy and clean and I cannot recommend it highly enough

Nice room, clean and reasonably modern. The restaurant location is near lots of bars and restaurants. Good location in the centre of Marseille, everything is walking distance. Staff are friendly and helpful. A little annoying that you are not informed 250euro deposit that is needed to check in, isn’t communicated with booking information or prior to arrival of hotel.
