A great find. Comfortable, spacious room in one of the most beautiful buildings of Vieux Lyon. Frederic Jean, the owner and well know local photographer, is Lyon born so knows everything you need to know too, and generous with tips as to where to eat and what to do, the upshot being you feel more in touch with the place.The...

If you are seeking a hotel room with all the standard comforts then this place may not fit the bill. We found the rooms spacious and couldn't be located more conveniently in the old part of town. The beds were a bit uncomfortable and some hanging space for clothes would have been helpful, but we didn't mind too much. The...

Location could not have been better, right in the middle of the old town, so yes I would recommend staying here even though I did have one or two complaints. Our arrival time was not negotiable which I did find a bit unreasonable, especially as no explanation was given prior to our arrival, we then discovered the reason was that...

I booked the Artelit based on the positive reviews here on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. The booking process was via email with the owner, Frederic, and went very smoothly. He does require one night's deposit upon booking, but accepts PayPal making this a simple process. Old Lyon is just beautiful and the Artelit lets you really feel like...

This hotel and the quality and style of it's rooms are unparalleled at this price point! As if you are walking into the home of someone with immaculate taste in art and architecture, this was a favourite on our trip through France. With all this finesse, it still feels extremely comfortable to come back to after a long day sightseeing....

Incredibly cool, groovy apartment, in the heart of town, awesome place to stay, an oasis for our group of three. Excellent central location, atmospheric level 3 situation, can't find enough superlatives for this hip pad. The host, a local professional photographer, couldn't have been more helpful [if somewhat intense!]. Found it in Lonely Planet. A major highlight of the trip,...

We got really lucky with this hotel, we made a last minute decision to spend a few days in Lyon and found this place quite by chance. We didn't realize we were not staying at a hotel but at a private apartment. When we arrived we were delighted by what we found! The room was in a very iconic building...

My girlfriend and I stayed for just one night recently. I agree with other reviews that the host is very helpful - and gave us some good pointers as to what to see in Lyon. The location of the hotel is excellent and the rooms are very opulent and fun. The only issue for me was that the bathroom only...

The Tour Rose is literally in the Tour Rose one of Lyon's most iconic buildings. Rising from a courtyard in the Old City the circular pink turret could not be more evocative of this under appreciated French city. The accommodation consists of apartments in the lower part of the tower. Our room overlooked the internal courtyard which is visited by...

The host of Artelit is excellent, very knowlegable and willing to go the extra kilometer for his guests. He steered his jetlagged new arrivals to a local cafe and persuaded the owners to stay open a little longer to accomodate us. The decor is eclectic. The renovation of the medieval building has created a very interesting space, but unavoidably there...
